So nervous.. have to cancel hair & makeup update on bottom
Ok, so I am FREAKING out and I know i have to call these people. I booked hair with someone and then realizede that I just don't want to use her. I am REALLY nervous to call her. She is really obnoxious and I don't want her to yell at me. I wish I had gotten email addresses!!! so much easier to cancel via email! Same thing with makeup except i went for a trial already and am cancelling her. I feel bad and I don't want to hurt her feelings. She was nice but I like someone else more. How did you guys do it???

I agree, just be firm. I had to cancel a booked vendor and I felt badly too. I was so nervous cancelling so I know how you feel. But just say "circumstances have changed and you have to cancel. Thank you anyway."

Yell at you?????? You are giving her 4 months notice---which is PLENTY of time! And if you hate confrontation, and she "yells" like this  , all you have to do is one simple thing......HANG UP! Your call is done!

LOL. Well Blu-ize you might understand this.... I wanted this girl that I have always wanted to do my updos ("M"). She had left the salon that I always went to so I tracked her down and called her... she talked with me for like 10 minutes and went on and on about her ex and how he cheated on her and how she just hooked up with someone yada yada.
Well I told her the date, etc.
Then i went to the salon to get my makeup trial and the feedback about this girl was NOT good. That she sabotages brides on the day of to make herself feel better about being single... how she is overly emotional and if she is having a bad day she will totally take it out on you, etc. So needless to say I am going to try someone else and I need to cancel her. BUT she is really mean. That was another reason she left... she had real 'tude. So I am afraid to call her. I know i have to do it, i just don't want to.
My mom has been ZERO help... in fact.. she has totally ruined the Shower surprise. (whole nother topic)... she keeps calling me to get the "shower list" and addresses... I am getting married in 4 months, and I now know one of two weekends that it is... not because I made any effort to find out. LOL
the makeup girl that I first went to was really nice, but I didn’t love the makeup. I just wish cell phones didn’t exist and I could leave voice mails at least I am such a wusssss

Woah, I never heard of that! Seriously though, these are vendors here to do us a service. If you don't want to use her, then just call and be polite while you cancel her. If she starts to be mean, you can either hang up, or call upon your inner b!tch (we all have one, ladies) and let her have it.

I canceled my previous hair vendor. We went back and forth via email but ending up discussing over the phone. It wasn't fun but once I did it I felt much better.

Don't worry about it, just make your call, hang up, and you never have to see these girls again! I know how you feel, I would feel bad as well, however it is your big day and you need to feel amazing about everything for that day!

Well, I think M has a total attitude, but don't let that stop you. You are the customer! You are the one getting married.
Do what you feel is best. Why not leave her a message at the salon with no forwarding phone number?

Honestly, all jokes aside. I believe in Karma, and what goes around comes around.
Just call her up and cancel. You're entitled to that right as a client.
If you can't call her, have someone else do it.
Otherwise, I'd personally stay away from the false excuses.
You just have to cancel, and hang up - you have a right to NOT give a reason to why you're cancelling.

I had to do something similar. I had booked a makeup trial and it was also the day of my e-party. The girl I booked got slammed on here, so I just told the other girl that I was postponing my eparty and would call her when I knew the new date. No problemo.

Just wanted to say GL!
We cancelled our limos a month before (parents did it for me in person) and it was fine...then I get a nasty call two days before the wedding trying to get me to pay full amount--I hung up when the person was rude to me.
It's your right to cancel--just do wantever you need to do!

I had to cancel my hair and makeup people and I told them my wedding was cancelled...hopefully that doesn't bite me in the ***, but I just didn't want to deal with it.
