soooooooooooooooooo frustrated!!!
well you guys have heard me whine about my hall problems for a while now (can't find a place in our price range that allows us to bring in an outside caterer). well the place we both liked just got back to us with a quote and its WAYYYYYYYY too crazy!!! theyre essentially going to charge us for their food even tho we're not using it. anyway, I understand their point of view tho, a business is a business.
but, that brings me back to square one. i'm so aggitated

Re: soooooooooooooooooo frustrated!!!
That really stinks. Is there a specific reason you want to use an outside caterer? Just wondering.

Re: soooooooooooooooooo frustrated!!!
I actually have the same problem of finding the hall within my budged!!! I know we'll find something at the end!!!! Don't give up!!!
Oh yeah.....my co-worker (she's Indian as well) actually had this talk with me about how she prefers Indian food at her wedding as well. She's actually gone to numerous Indian Weddings on the Island at the Catering Halls! I think she spoke of Chateau Briand. I'm going to ask her for you. I believe her sister had a wedding somewhere in Nassau county as well!!!

I'm gonna look into wineries too, someone suggested that. It might help if i change my date to feb or something less $$.

Okay...so I got the scoop from my co-worker the other day. One of her friend or cousin?? got married at Chateau Briand. She really like the place and they had a full course Indian cusine. She doesn't really know how much it cost .. She spoke of some other Indian restaurant/catering halls in Nassau County. I personally went to 2 Indian weddings. One was at this indian restaurant in nassau county. It looked more like a catering hall though. It was very pretty. I'll try to get the name of it from my friend. The other Indian wedding I went to was at Verdi's. They actually had Buffet Style Indian food. It was very tasty. The only complaint I have is that the food is slightly room temperature!!
Oh yeah...I didn't really post an update yet, but I think I'm going to book Larkfield Manor. The place was unexpectedly nice. FH and I are going to look at leonard's, swan club, and huntington townhouse today!!! Wish us lucK!!!
Keep me posted on how your Catering Hall shopping goes!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

try doing a search on the BHB board there is an "Offical Indian Bride Thread" they might be able to help you.

Re: soooooooooooooooooo frustrated!!!
O yea... check out Chateau Briand.... I am almost positive that they will be able to do an Indian cuisine for you- they cater to west indian brides, and all other brides... def. check that out!!!!!!
I remember when I went to check them out the BM mentioned that they would be able to provide a west Indian holiday drink called Sorrel if I wish.

Re: soooooooooooooooooo frustrated!!!
what about a place that will just charge a site fee? Like some of the parks and places like that... I know the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport (not to be confused with the Vanderbilt Mansion) just charges a site fee. They have a permanent tent next to their gardens overlooking the water, it's a beautiful spot, if you aren't really set on having an indoor (ie, a solid roof over you) wedding.
good luck, that sounds like it must be incredibly frustrating!
