Grooms Cake - need ideas
I'm thinking of surprising my FH with a grooms cake at the rehearsal dinner - even though he says not to - I think it'll be fun.
I'm torn as to what to do...
- He loves baklava, but we're not greek - is that wierd to do? - He likes ice cream, and we have a joke about sundaes - so maybe a cake in the shape of a sundae? - He loves peanut butter, so I was thinking a giant Reeses Peanut Butter Cup?? - He plays the trumpet, maybe work that in?
I'd like to keep it fun, stay away from sports, etc. - he's not a crazy sports fan anyway...has favorite teams, but not someone who watches every game in a season.
Any ideas?

Re: Grooms Cake - need ideas
Actually I was wondering about groom's cake too. I never even heard of that until recently. Can any bakery make one? I was thinking about getting a cake in the shape of a stanley cup because my FH is obsessed with the Rangers and his friend recently bought him a small token stanley cup as a joke and he got a kick out of it. Does anyone know of a specific place that makes stuff like that?

Try Audrey's in Sayville...that's the bakery I think I'm going with for our wedding cake...and have seen some awesome grooms cake pix on here from them (do a search for guinness and you'll see what I mean!)

He enjoys cooking...and then the other stuff I mentioned above. We're both in market research - so that doesn't really help.

I like the sundae idea....does he like cars? I'm getting FI an M3 grooms cake...he said it's part of the plan, little does he know he'll get it in the form of a cake!

Re: Grooms Cake - need ideas
OHHH! you just reminded me of an ongoing joke my FH and I have. He has been wanting a Harley for a while and instead of a Harley, he obviously made the better choice and bought me an engagment ring. When we got engaged, he told everyone I was wearing his Harley on my finger. (I told him that he may be able to sit on it but it won't go anywhere ) Soooo...maybe a cake in the shape of a Harley would be perfect. Thanks for the idea!!

That sounds amazing! (maybe becasue the diet is getting to me). Can a baker actually make it look like a giant peanut butter cup?
