question about having MOH and bridesmaids wearing same dress

What are you all doing with your MOH and bridesmaids...same dress, or different? My MOH lives out of town, so when she was up here a couple of weeks ago, we went shopping for dresses. We actually chose really nice dresses at JCPenneys...hers was a little different than the bridesmaids, a deeper blue, and she loved it. It was a little tighter than she wanted, but seemed ok with buying it when she got back home. So I get a call from her saying she found another dress that is in the store and doesn`t have to be specially ordered (she is a size 2 so it`s difficult finding one in a store). I saw the dress online and it`s not only listed as a prom dress (my MOH is 44), but it is ugly! I do not want that dress at my wedding!! So, my question: should I have her purchase the same gown as my bridesmaids, or keep looking for another dress? Come to think of it, I don't even know if the bridesmaid dress comes in her size. But the style of it is pretty popular so I am sure we can find something similar in her size. I thought this problem was solved when she was up here, but apparently not. Thanks for your help! :) JOY

Honestly - it's really a matter of choice. What do YOU want? If you don't like a certain dress, by all means, speak your mind though! I really don't mind either way - especially that my girls will be in black! I've seen it done both ways, and both look great - but a couple of times the MOH dress was a little too different and looked out of place. I am leaving it up to my Maid and Matron (I have 2) - but if they go with the same, I'm just going to have them carry a different bouquet. Good luck!!

I was going to go with all different dresses in the same color, but different styles, but it got difficult. I am getting all the same dress. If you dont like the dress she picked out then she shouldnt get it. You should at least likek it. Even if a dress doesnt come in a 2 they can take it in as they usually always have to anyway.

well, I told my MOH that I didn't like the dress she chose...so she has been trying to find something similar (she told me that she really isn't comfortable in that original dress, so she'd like to keep looking). I am OK with that...I don't want her to be uncomfortable at all! I think we found something though...so thank God! Does it matter if the MOH and bridesmaids dresses are different material? I guess that is the next question...this is all so difficult! I hate to make the wrong decision!!
