Attention Brides That Are Having the Hair Dresser Come To You!!!
 I think I received an outrageous quote for hair. The hair dresser would come to me the morning of the wedding and do everyone's hair. Please Please Please let me know if this is TOO much and if possible how much you're paying. Thank You.

MOB (up-do)
4 Bridesmaids (2 up-do, 2 blow-out)
$800 (plus gratuity)

I have done some research and sadly i feel like it is the going rate. I called two different people from cactus. one was $125 trial, $150 day of bride, $125 everyone else,
One was like 200 bride, 125 everyone else
and I spoke to someone in st. james who wants $250 for bride that includes trial and $125 for everyone else, $75 for blow outs
and one in the city that is $300 for bride including trial, $80 for everyone else and round trip car service.

 I don't know what to do. She quoted me $555 if I wanted to go to the salon the morning of but I just don't know. I feel like I am even too late to book anyone else with only 5 1/2 months to go!!

keep looking, for sure.
go to some more neighborhoodie salons and/or salons in areas that are not as "high-end"
one salon quoted me $500 for me and my mom. we said no just on principle... we felt it was rediculous!
so now we're using a lady in floral park who just did my hair trial in her home and will come to the hotel day-off. i don't even know an exact price yet, but she charged me $30 for my trial and then a wash, trim, and blow-out after!

It depends. If I remember correctly, when I was thinking of having my hairdresser come to us the day of the wedding she quoted the same amount...because it's a Saturday, and the location was a good distance from the salon...she would have had to take the day off - and that would somewhat make up for what she would have made that day. ...and that was if she "called in sick"....if I had booked it through the salon, it would have cost over $1000 + gratuity!
Luckily plans changed, and we will be getting ready locally, so we can go to the salon....I'm happy because I planned on treating my girls to hair and makeup...so this saved me a bit of money...of course now our ceremony and reception are over an hour apart - but hey, what can you do.
Now, I'll be paying $70 for my updo, and $60 each for my bridesmaids + $40 each for whoever wants makeup done + tips. Much better!

That seems way over the top. My stylist is charging me $100 and my 5 bridesmaids $60. She's charging the 3 jr. bridesmaids $25 and the flowergirl $15
