started a new diet today, heres what i am doing...
my mom used to do it and would loose like 5 pounds in 3 days. i started it this morning, and we will see. i'll let you girls now, i figured it was worth a shot:
A DIET FROM THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION MUST BE FOLLOWED EXACTLY - LOOSE 10 LBS IN 3 DAYS
FIRST DAY:
breakfast: black coffee or tea, 1/2 grapefruit 1 slice of toast, 2 tsp peanut butter
lunch: 1/2 cup tuna, 1 slice of toast, black coffee or tea
dinner: 2 slices of any type of meat ( about 3 oz), i cup of string beans, 1 cup of beets, i small apple, 1 cup vanilla ice cream
Second Day:
breakfast: 1 egg, 1/2 banana, 1 slice toast, black coffee or tea
lunch: 1 cup cottage cheese, 5 saltine crackers
dinner: 2 hot dogs, 1 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup carrots, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
Third Day:
breakfast: 5 saltine crackers, 1 slice cheddar cheese, 1 small aaple, black coffee or tea
Lunch: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice toast
Dinner: 1 cup tuna, 1 cup beets, 1 cup cauliflower, 1/2 cup cantaloupe, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
Diet works on a chemical breakdown and it is proven. Do not vary or substitute any of the above foods. Salt & pepper may be used, no other seasonings. Where no quantity is given, there are no restrictions other than common sense. This diet is to be used 3 days at a time.
In 3 days you will loose 10 lbs. After the 3rd day of dieting, you will eat normal foods, but do not overdo. After your 4th day of normal eating, start back on your 3 day diet. You can looose up to 40 lbs a month if you stick to iy.
It is a safe diet. Remember do not snack between meals. You are allowed diet soda on this diet.

I hope it works for you.
Although it did say that you can lose 40 pounds in a month. That sounds a little crazy.

This diet is NOT approved by the AHA...just reading what it calls for Hot Dogs, Ice Cream will tell you that...
But...for further proof...here's the AHA's Website

Phony American Heart Association Diets
Seeking the AHA 3-day, 7-day or cabbage soup diet?
A weight-loss diet claimed to be from the American Heart Association has been cited several times across the United States and other countries. Many people believe that the three-day or seven-day, hot dog and cabbage soup diets are from the American Heart Association. However, this is not true.
The true American Heart Association diet gives recommended daily servings of various food categories, not specific foods. Most of the diets that are incorrectly labeled as the American Heart Association diet give specific menus or suggest that the diet be followed for a specific length of time.
One phony diet describes a three-day or seven-day menu, supposedly prescribed by the American Heart Association or by the "Heart Association." It includes vanilla ice cream, hot dogs, eggs and cheddar cheese. The diet promises a 10-pound weight loss in three days. These bogus diets have been cited as the Spokane Heart Diet, the Cleveland Clinic Diet, Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet and the Miami Heart Institute Diet. The poorly typed and photocopied phony diet has also been offered by mail for $2 per copy.
The American Heart Association diet is a nutritionally adequate eating plan for lifetime use. While it can help healthy people lose excess weight or maintain ideal body weight, quick weight loss is not its purpose. For years, the association has been recommending that Americans cut fat and cholesterol by limiting eggs, whole milk dairy products (such as ice cream and cheddar cheese) and luncheon meats. From time to time other fad diets emphasizing other foods will also be incorrectly attributed to the association.
