liw question

if you write something negative about a vendor does liw take it off.
I think thats nuts.
I just wrote someone back info about a specific photographer and I didnt write anything horrible or use bad language or anything and its not here anymore. we should be able to let other brides know info about other vendors

Re: liw question

If it is a paying vendor on here, I do believe they can erase the post. This site is their (Ron and Liz)bread and butter.

I know people talk about other weddings they have been to and don't know all the details. I think it depends on how it is worded.

This is taken from the review board.....
The purpose of this board is for reviews of weddings by the bride and/or groom only. Thus it becomes a wonderful research tool for brides to be.

1) Please post reviews of your wedding and not others.

2) If you start a review prior to your wedding (i.e. invitations) please add to this review as time goes on. This will eliminate multiple reviews by the same person.

3) If you have an area of concern with a specific vendor, please communicate directly with that vendor.

4) If you have a specific vendor rave this is not the board.

All The Best!

PS - Thank you to those who suggested we add this forum.

Re: liw question

It has nothing to do with whether it's a paying vendor ir not, it has to do with whether or not what's posted is factual or someone's opinion that can result in negative results for the vendor in question. I find that as long as facts, not opinions or assumptions are posted all is well.

In a way though, many people do find out. Whenever a newly engaged bride comes onto LIW and asks about a certain florist, a certain photographer or any other vendor that they didn't know has completely screwed a bride, you find out pretty quickly because the name will come up ******. (Not all of the time, but specific ones). Once you ask about it, it comes out. And you'd be surprised what certain searches will turn up.

Another thing - I think that a profile can say a lot. Some people will list their hall and specifically 'do not recommend', it says in their photographer section 'FM for details'.

Re: liw question

From what I've seen, it's also not just what you say it's how you say it. You need to stick to the facts and not editorialize. I've posted some negative information before and it is still on the boards. I've also seen others who how done the same. The big thing seems to be sticking to the facts about something you have first hand knowledge.
