OMG- The puppy is.....(update pg2)
A GIRL!!!! I named her Stanley!!
I brought the puppy to the vet today because it had been very sick yesterday, threw up all night, and then wouldn't eat today. Also, it had a bad cough. So the doctor is checking everything out and was like- WHOA it's a girl!!! And she ends up having pneumonia So the bill is $300, I am pissed because we specifically asked the breeder for a boy and now I look like an idiot who can't tell a boy dog from a girl dog (oh and not to mention we now have to change the name!!)
So I get home and FH calls the breeder and she agrees to take off the money we spent at the vet off the bill, but nothing to compensate for sending us a girl. She said we could send it back, but there is no way I am putting this poor puppy through all that (not to mention I am a little happy it turned out to be a girl  ) Is it just me or should she take a little more off for messing up? FH thinks I am crazy and I am so upset over all this (well not to mention I just had to see my puppy stuck with needles and now she is sooo groggy its sad) We are now fighting because he thinks we should just let it go....
Am I being crazy? Also any girl dog names you can think of would be appreciated as we are now back to the beginning

I LOVE LOVE the name Cocoa.
She's SUPER sweet Meg!! But I can imagine your frustration about the bills. Where's the breeder located? Did they have a 1 year health guarantee or anything?
Don't worry about not knowing it was a girl.... my family's NOTORIOUS for doing the same thing with our cats (ashamed to admit we've done it more than once!  )
I wish her a speedy recovery. It's no fun to see your "babies" sick.

That is weird that the breeder got it wrong. But she is SOOOOOO cute you are lucky! I say call her Stella....it's close to Stanley! Or Staniella!

She's a beautiful puppy, and I'm sure you've even grown attached to her already. I would let it go with the dog breeder too though, and concentrate on keeping her healthy and giving her a good home.
We had a female chocolate lab, whom we named "Moog" because she made sounds that sounded like that. Sometimes pets just have a way of deciding their own names. Good luck with her!

Good names: Lucy, Abigail (Abbie), Nikki (MY FH loved that name cause he thought it was cute), Gwen (I just love the name LOL), Cassie, ummm.... i am gonna put more on here and edit!

IMO, based on my personal experience, Female dogs are of a better temper, so you really lucked out, essentially. IMO.
She is too precious. I like Coco. Or Kayla. Do you have a favorite place, like Hawaii or Spain? You can look up a word you like, in another language, and name her that?! I wanted to name my dog Moana ( I think that was it-) which was "wave" in Hawaiian.
Just an idea, she is toooooo cute though!

aww  that stinks that the breeder messed up... but at lesat you still have your adorable little puppy 
i LOVE mocha for a girl!! so cute!
as for the breeder taking off more money, i think that everybody makes mistakes and she did offer to correct it if you send the puppy back... i say just let it go and enjoy your new baby girl

Your puppy is BEAUTIFUL!! Labs are my favorite. FH and I have a 2 year old yellow lab and she is such a wonderful dog!
Re: names, how about Madison, Casey, Hayley, or Bella? Those are some of my favorites.

I'm definately NOT sending her back. She is way too cute, not to mention way too sick to fly. We are taking very good of her I'm just annoyed at the breeder, not the baby!!

I have a chocolate lab too... mine's a 10 month old boy now.
I wanted a girl too, but FH wanted a boy, so a bay we got. Girl's names are fun though! I LOVE Stella, or maybe Lola, or Lexi?

She is sooo cute, I think you should keep the name stanley, be different That is super weird about the breeder screwing up the sex, I definitely think this is something worth being upset about just not for long, let it go and enjoy being with your new puppy
