small issue......repost from 07ers board!

FSIL is preg and due in August......she has been continuosly making remarks that her new baby will either be the "other" ring bearer.....or ANOTHER flower girl! lol.....well she just found out that baby is a girl and was like now you have another flowergirl! im like....huh...i do? is that your choice! lol......long story short baby will be 11mos old at wedding....possibly not walking yet......and i DONT NEED ANOTHER FLOWER GIRL!!!!! am i overreacting? she also mentioned that if the baby is not walking yet her son (the ring bearer) could wheel her down the aisle in a wagon! i cant deal! is this my wedding or a showcase for your little family?!!! OPINIONS PLEASE!!

I'm pregnant now, and my son will be 11 months old as well when I get married. #1 my son is NOT even attening our wedding because at 11 months old, the neediness is way tooo overwhelming. And #2 when did she grow balls and make the decisions for your day? I may be a bit hormonal, and I NEVER EVER complain, but I don't think the baby should be there at all. If your ok with it, thats fine, but YOU make the decisions for YOUR day. Thats JMHO. Sorry if I offended you, but I felt I needed to get that off my chest.

Are you sure she was being serious? My sister is pregnant, and her daughter, my neice, will be 6 months old at our wedding. I always joke around and say she is my flower girl and that my nephew can wheel her down in a wagon, but it really isn't realistic. She is definately going to be in pics wearing a really cute dress. I love the idea though, only cause it is my sister, not my FSIL. I guess its different in that aspect. If she was serious though, just tell your FH to say that the idea of having her be pulled down in a wagon is not a realistic one, and in reality, if she can't walk, she can't be a flower girl. Don't worry though. You are the bride, it will all work out in your favor.

IMO, this is something that needs to be handled by FH and you, together. What does FH feel? Can he talk to her? I dont think you are over reacting at all. Its YOUR wedding and I think that there is a polite, respectful way to tell her that her new baby will not be in the bridal party. I think that FH needs to get involved in this situation.

You're not overreacting. I would tell her flat out that infants are NOT welcome, and will NOT be a part of the BP, and the it is not up for discussion.

you arent overreacting at all. IMO she is a bit too young to be a flowergirl. i heard somewhere that any child under 5 is difficult to have in a wedding party.

You can always just have your FSIL buy her a dress and appear in a few pictures or maybe be carried down the aisle, just as a small part and to avoid conflict. It's your FSIL that in the end will have to deal with having an 11 month old at the wedding chasing her around.
