Has anyone "won" anything from Wedding World in Hauppague?

I just got a call that I won $400 off a photography package. I already HAVE my photographer! Should I feel bad that I actually WON something like this and couldn't use it, or was this a gimmick? They won't apply it to anything else in their store...

BKtoLI just "won" the same thing. I don't know...sounds like a sales pitch to me.

Yes..... but it could be that the $400 discount make them the same price than anybody else.

You have to see what you get for what $. It may not be a deal afterall but a scam to get people to do biz with them.

I had a feeling... good. I don't feel so bad. And ya know what? I won't even go there to look at their invitations because I don't like people trying to "Trick" me into going to their store. hmph!

Awhile ago, I "won" a honeymoom, but in order to get it, I had to go for a demonstration on cookware or something. So silly. I didn't do it. They shouldn't get us girls all excited like that!

I got the same phone call. However, this is not the Commack Wedding Center - it's Helen's Wedding World on Austin Blvd in Commack. My sister bought her wedding gown there 2 years ago, and if they carried my designer I would have purchased mine from them as well. The women in dresses are nothing short of completely wonderful!!!

I got that call about a year ago, it was a scam to get you into the showroom. They just gave a "discount" on flowers....

I just got the same call. I hate when they try to scam us. If we won $400.00 it should be towards any product thaey carry, not some "now marked up" photography package.

Hey girls, don't diss on Wedding World!! They're not scamming you!! They picked a winner and if she already has a photographer then they're going to pick another winner until somebody can use their prize!!

Seriously, I'm using them and there's absolutely nothing dirty about the way they do business!! Trust me girls, they're nothing but nice ladies that are trying to give us brides a break!!

Their prices are NOT jacked up at ALL!!!! Those women are so lovely and accomodating every time I go in there!! It makes me really upset to see WW get ranted on like this!!

Sorry, I couldn't leave this thread alone without defending them!

I received the same call. They said they saw me onSunday at the bridal show and my name was picked in their drawing for 400 off their photography.. thing is.. I was never there! I had registered but I was unable to go!

Still sounds strange to me how all of us were picked in their drawing for 400 off photo.

I thought the same thing about Wedding World when i got there phone call. I set up a day to go and see them but i never showed up because i felt the same way UNTIL i talked to my cousin's wife she had used the and she told me to go see them that i may like it. So the FH and I went to check it out, We liked it and we liked the People. IT was better for us to use them cause by time we added up the $$ for the people we were using we were saving us some $$. So I booked with Wedding World. From what im reading on here people are mixing up Wedding World and Wedding Center. I heard alot of BAD things ABout Wedding Center.
