Registry Question
--Sorry-- I also posted it in 07 Brides section, but figured more people check this one first
People keep asking me when am I going to register. Do you girls think it is too early to start for a mid-2007 wedding?
Also, FI and I don't live together yet and have to register for EVERYTHING. It is so overwhelming.
This is probably a silly request, but does anyone have a compiled list of all the things we should register for?

Re: Registry Question
You can register for basic stuff, but just be careful. Some things will be discontinued between now and a few months before your wedding.
You can get away with doing china, crystal, silver, luggage and large appliances. But, be careful with the small stuff!

Re: Registry Question
Welcome!
Wherever you decide to register will give you a list of things that you should register for!
My FI & I registered for pretty much everything; he lived on his own previously but all his stuff is all gross and manly!
Register for what you need and whatever you don't get, you can purchase at a discounted price.
We registered at bed, bath and beyond & Macy's a few months after we were engaged
Good luck!

Re: Registry Question
We also registered a few months after we got engaged. Sometimes people get you engagement gifts, especially if you are having an engagement party.

Re: Registry Question
My FI and I registered two weeks ago and our wedding date isn't till March 07. We were asked by FMIL to register so that family and friends could send gift --- My girlfriend did not register and she got so much barwares at her e-party and neither she or her fiance drinks! With that lesson in mind, I went ahead and register for most things except towels/bedding.

Re: Registry Question
I am definitely going to register - I actually can't wait! But I am surpised when people are surpised that we haven't registered yet. I just feel like our wedding/my shower are so far away.

Re: Registry Question
fortunoff will give you a comprehensive list of what you'll need -- plus a couple of things you probably don't! But I love that store and I'm so happy I registered there.
It's never to early to register -- people probably want to buy you gifts and don't know where to go. I say go sign up -- you can always add/delete online.
Its fun to scan!!!
