Is this rude? - Hoodie question
I bought two hoodies for my mom and MOH (sister) and am going to have them embroidered for Mother of Bride and MOH. I have five other girls in the wedding party, and I wasn't planning on getting them hoodies - is that rude? I will be doing a spa party as my bridal gift so it is not like they are not getting anything.

Re: Is this rude? - Hoodie question
That isn't rude at all....you don't have to buy anyone anything....and your mom doesn't count (as part of the bp---you know what I mean) & MOH is "special"

Re: Is this rude? - Hoodie question
Hmm.. I think it might be. That kind of thing would be something I would get for everyone or no one. Think of it this way- the only day they are going to really wear them is on your wedding day. So they will have cute hoodies and the othe girls won't. If you want to get your mom and MOH an extra gift, I would do something different.

I agree, you don't want anyone in the group to feel any less important than anyone else.

Re: Is this rude? - Hoodie question
I was thinking of doing this also, but it does get $$$, Instead of getting everyone in your bridal party the hoodies, maybe you could get them cute tank tops that say bridesmaid, or a cute tee. I am sure that they will understand if you get your mom & MOH the hoodie.

I completely disagree -- your mom and your MOH ARE more important than your bridesmaids. They do more for you than anyone else involved in the wedding (generally) and in your case your MOH is your sister. That's a cut above your friends IMO. I say go for it.

I have to agree - I think the fact that you are only getting them for those members of the bridal party who are family makes it absolutely okay. After all, they are family - this day is more important for them than it is for your friends, you can have a billion friends who get married, but it's much more rare to have a sister or daughter getting married!

Re: Is this rude? - Hoodie question
I don't think it's rude at all. Your mom and sister are more important, end of story. The only way I'd be concerned is if you had another sister that was a bridesmaid and would therefore be the only immediate family member not wearing one.

Re: Is this rude? - Hoodie question
I think you should find other ways to honor them other than special clothing related to your wedding day.
I think it's rude to do something for one person and not for another.
It's like going out to lunch with 3 people and only offering to pay for 1 person. While it's a nice gesture, it would be better to take the person out individually.

i totally agree with this poster. not for nothing but the MOH and the MOB ARE important and i would imagine that your BM's would understand why you'd get them special embroidered hoodies. getting cute "BM" tees is a nice idea if you can--but don't feel bad about wanting to do something special for your mom and MOH!!! they deserve it!

Re: Is this rude? - Hoodie question
Why don't you do hoodies for your mom and MOH and tanks for the bridesmaids! You can get cute ribbed ones at old navy cheap!!
Otherwise, I don't think it's rude at all...as long as you don't give it to them in front of the other girls!

Re: Is this rude? - Hoodie question
I would love to do something like this for my BP. It will cost me money. My MOH is my twin sister and one of my BM is my older sister. If I do that, I too would feel I was being rude if I didn't get the BM's one also. Maybe I should just get one for myself. Where can I purchase the outfits?
Please FM with info

Re: Is this rude? - Hoodie question
Thanks ladies! I am going to look into getting some tanks cheap and get the iron on bridesmaids letters. For anyone interested, I got pink terry hoodies on sale and New York & Co. for $7.99!
