Well originally I planned to have 110 people, but It is now beginning to look like 150 (hoping max 120 say they can come)

That said, I am 31, he is 37.
We will have been engaged almost 15 months by wedding time.
With honeymoon, but without e-rings and with mom paying for my attire, it is beginning to look like about $25K if 140 people show.

That is what the average wedding would cost in Idaho not here!

Exactly what I was thinking, but since its an average it dilutes what NY weddings really cost.

I'll be 23 and my FH will be 24
Our engagement will be 2yrs and 3 months
and on our wedding day we will be together for 7 years! I've just started planning but I already know that the amount will be well over 30,000 when we originally thought around 20! Who knows what the final amount will be at the end of this journey, but it sure is fun LOL....

$27,000?!?!?!?!?

They are probably not talking about NY weddings....or even LI weddings to be more specific.

For the most part, out of state people cannot fathom the price of our weddings!!! I went to a friend's wedding in PA a few years ago in a beautiful place, Sat nite, all the same basic stuff we have here........it cost her $40/pp!!!!!!!!!!!

We're inviting 117, hoping for 90 guests and our budget is lower than the average including hm and wedding rings. I refuse to pay more than 20K, too much for me.

sounds very familiar!

I can't even tell you how many times lately I've thought "ug, maybe I should just have a small backyard wedding with less than 100 people and forget this whole fancy thing... I never even imagined spending this much money on one little day.
but then I don't want to regret not having a big fancy wedding...
