hawaii brides - how much cash?
How much cash do you plan to spend in hawaii? Is $220 per day for FH and I (together) enough for 9 or 10 days?

You mean just for food and drink -- or are you including hotel's into that as well?

Re: hawaii brides - how much cash?
I was thinking closer to $300 because I heard it's expensive and me and FH love our cocktails!

Re: hawaii brides - how much cash?
It totally depends, we had meals that were $20 and meals that were $80, so it's up to you! every day will vary, but $220 should be more than enough unless you plan on having 2 $100 meals per day!!

Re: hawaii brides - how much cash?
You should be fine, Hawaii is expensive but there are plenty of lower cost places to go. I even think there is a Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant there.
Don't forget to budget for some activities (we went kayaking and hiking where are very popular over there).

Re: hawaii brides - how much cash?
FH and I are not huge drinkers so then it sounds like we should be fine...eat some cheap meals some more expensive and a few activities. Then $220 or so per day should cover us, right?

Re: hawaii brides - how much cash?
well, if that is food alone you should be fine, but if it is food and activities that is not a lot. For example, the Jack Harter helicopter ride around Kauai is almost 400, the napali coast boat tour plus snorkling is something like 200. If you take a 1/2 day flying tour of the big island from Maui that is 700. So activities cost a lot.

Re: hawaii brides - how much cash?
the food alone was about $1300.00 so I would say you probably will need at least $2000.00...

Re: hawaii brides - how much cash?
If you're budgetting 220 for meals and activiites that should be sufficient. FH and I went to Hawaii recnently for a week and spent about $600 that whole week. We did activities about half the time and the other half we spend just walking around and visiting museums
Prices in Hawaii are comparable to NYC prices so it's not much of a sticker shock for us.
Check out Rachel's Ray's $40/day show. She has some great tips on how to keep expenses low.
