Re: candle fire

I worry about it because I am both paranoid AND clumsy. I will be skipping votives because I think those are easiest to reach over and accidentally light your arm on fire!

Re: candle fire

I actually saw this at a wedding.....they had the tall pillar candles in the CP's and when they melted down some of the flowers actually caught fire! By the end of the night all of the pillars on all of the CP's had to be blown out! (I guess they melted to quickly!)

Re: candle fire

I've seen it happen to the centerpieces as well. My friend had candles in hers and they would set the flowers on fire...I know our table's candles were out very quickly.

Re: candle fire

people just have to be careful with open flame! use common sense with the cp's and don't make it too dangerous. at my fsil shower, they had favors that were little glass tea light holders w/tea lights in them and they actually lit them on the tables (though i was a bm, her sisters didn't really include me in the planning, otherwise this stupid mistake would not have happened, among others...). anyways, we asked them not to light the ones on our table bc we had kids at our table. good thing, bc the adults at the other tables accidently lit their bridal bingo papers and menus on fire!! a little common sense goes a loooooong way! ~lacey

Re: candle fire

We're doing floating candles in our CPs. There will be some votives on sweetheart table, but that's about it.

So, to answer your question, despite seeing the CP fire at WOTY, no I'm not worried.

Re: candle fire

At my FH brother's wedding, his brother's jacket ended up falling in a candle and getting burned. I'm a little nervous about having candles, but hopefully someone will see something happening before it is too late

Re: candle fire

My friends wedding this past summer she had votives but instead of being in the little glass she had them in bubble bowls...they covered more of the flame and when knocked over they just went out!
