Question re Thank you ettiquette

Hi, I don't really post much but I know that you girls always seem to be really helpful so I thought I would check with you guys:

We received a wedding gift from someone who we invited to the wedding but sent in their rsvp declining (we knew they probably wouldn't come). My question is do we send the Thank you note now or are we supposed to wait until after the wedding? I don't know if it is appropriate to send one before we are married.

Let me knw if you guys have any insight. TIA

I would send it now since you received the gift recently.

You're supposed to send the thank you as soon as possible. We didn't have our official thank you cards yet so we just sent it in a regular note card.

FH and I have two sets of informals because when we got engaged, we started getting engagement gifts. The ones we got for BEFORE the wedding have our first names on them and we use them for all engagement and wedding gifts BEFORE the wedding.

We will be using the "Mr. and Mrs. FH" informals for gifts AT and AFTER the wedding. It made it much easier for us to simply write as many thank yous as we could beforehand so there was less to do afterwards.
