Who is walking you down the aisle?

Who will be walking you down the aisle? If you were a guest would you find it strange if the parents walked down the aisle together and the bride walked by herself?

I think the bride walking by herself looks very nice, its just untraditional. It looks really elegant when she is walking in alone.

I am walking with my dad...it means a lot to him. My mother is carrying my neice(will be 14 months) and walking with my 12 year old nephew(about the same height as mom )

Well, my real mom and I are estranged, and as for my stepmom, although she has been in my life for every 20 years, I would just love to walk down the aisle alone with my dad.... we have had a distant relationship growing up, and have gotten closer in my adulthood... My stepmom and stepsister always push him to be involved in their lives, and I have always been quieter about it. I feel this is the one moment in my life - besides the F/D dance, that it will just be me and him...

My mom . I wouldn't think it was weird either way. I have seen many people walk by themselves and with both parents. Anyway you do it it is going to be beautiful. Everybody will be focusing on you too much to even notice.

My uncle / godfather. my father passed away when I was 17.

I would like my mother to do it, but she would rather my uncle do it.

You girls are all so terrific and supportive! I was really nervous about the reaction to a lone bride walking down the aisle but thanks to all of you I feel much more confident about it. Thanks - You're all awesome!

People walking down with just their mom....are your dads still living / in your life?

My mom will be giving me away as well.

I'm walking myself - I'm 33, I moved out at 17 when I went away to college, my FH and I are paying for the wedding... I just feel like I've been on my own and am independent.

i was going to do just my dad, but at my cousin's wedding, his wife was walked down the aisle by both her parents and my mom mentioned this and seemed kind of interested so I am going to have both of them walk with me down the aisle
