Ok my opinion and would recommend it to anyone, is to live with your man first. We lived together for 1 1/2 years before we got engaged. I truly believe that you really don't know a person until you have seen them in the best and worst of times. Another thing I have got out of this is, when you have a fight you fix it right then and there because neither of you is walking out of your own home

we do not live together, we both live at home (no rent!!).

we are trying to save for a house, so we will hopefully buy one before the wedding.

Because we were with each other 24/7 and it didn't make sense to pay double rent in NYC when we could just live together. Plus, I was living in a shoebox and he had a huge apartment :)

He lived in another state. I moved down to be with him and had a place with some friends for awhile. Then I realized I wanted to live alone, he owns a house and didn't want to see me pay for an apartment when we already spent most of the time at his place. So, he asked me to move in, said that we wouldn't live together for more than a year w/out being engaged.

He wanted to move closer to his office, but if he did that then he would have been really far from me. Now we have a much nicer aparment then we had when we were living alone and we each pay $300 a month less. It was definitely a great decision!

We were 50 miles apart, and he was getting tired of driving back and forth. Plus his 2 BR apt with washer dryer access and use of pool and jacuzzi was looking a lot better than my studio apt in my brother's basement for only $50 more a month.

My FH lived in PA and I lived in NJ. It got to the point that our Wednesday night date nights and weekends together were just not enough. When we both starting crying every time we said goodbye we knew that we had to change the situation. Shortly thereafter he packed up his apartment, quit his job, and moved into my ("our") apartment in NJ. I'll always appreciate how much he changed his life for me.

I was in CT and he lives down here, we are in a great cheap apt...We both felt that it was the only way not to have a long distance relationship anymore... we had been dating for four year and I was like we do this or its over, and he was the one who made the whole suggestion to move it, Its hard at first (cause he is sooooo OCD about EVeryTHING!!! ) but I love him and I love being with him all the time

We ran off to live in Colorado together in 1998 to live the ski bum life. We were there for 5 years

Now we are back on LI!

we were with eachother ALL the time, It did not make sense for us to be paying 2 rents and living in one place anyway...We wanted to live together before we were married ...not as a trial persay- BUT as a way to really get to know one another...and the first few months were rough...and I am glad we went through those roughs parts and now are completely happy

I moved to LA with my FI after we were engaged.
His company was going to transfer him to California, which was a great move for his career. He said he wouldn't go unless I was with him, so I told my Super Catholic mother that I was going to live in sin on the other side of the country.

While she doesn't agree with living together before marriage, she was a lot more accepting than I thought she would be.

He is the first person I lived with.

I was going to slowly move things in and make it permanent after the wedding. But he felt like he was being buried with pressure from school and he told me that he needed only one thing to make him happy - and that was coming home to me. So I moved in.

I was adamant about NOT living together before marriage. We had been dating for 5 years and he wold sleep over, but not live in my apartment. He moved himself in the weekend after he proposed. I wasn't happy...but I'm glad we did that because it helped a lot once we were married. The first year (that was almost 5 years ago ) was the hardest.

We've lived together practically our whole relationship! This probably makes some people sick to their stomach to hear, but you know when you can't get enough of being around someone? Like, you just want to see them and have them with you all the time? Thats us!

currently we both live at home, but as soon as we know where his internship (he's getting his Phd in Clinical Psychology) is going to be (in 26 days) we will then decide on where to live and figure out the logistics of moving in together. I am kidna excited and a bit scared, I like living at home with my mom, but I really want him to be the person I come home to.

We moved in together a few months after the engagement. We wanted the transition to be smooth once we got married.

We do not live together. I rent an apartment and he lives on his own as well. We are together all the time and I know that it would save a lot of money if we did. First off I dont think my parents would agree and secondly, I feel like everything happens already before the marriage.- I want to keep something traditional... I want to be able to move into a house with my husband.. it will give us something to plan and look forward to after the wedding... jmo....

Call me old fashion... I like the tradition of getting married out of my family home and moving in with my husband after we are married. Plus, we both live at home right now which is saving us A LOT of money and since no one is kicking us out, we are not going to give it up! Of course it is stil not COMPLETELY free, but at least it is not as expensive as rent! But I always sleep at his house on the weekends (or vice versa) and we have gone on many trips together. Also, whenever my family goes away he stays at my house and we "live together" for the one or two weeks they are away. No doubts I won't be able to live with him once we are married. Plus, after dating for 6 years, you know everything about a person anyway - you don't have to live with them to know all of their "annoying" habits

haha, this is funny.... fh and i were really great friends and each of us really wanted to get out of parents house, so we got an apartment together as roommates.. i think the feelings were always there, but we never realized it, and a few months later..boom.. he finally admitted his feelings for me( and i knew i had feelings for him, but kept them hidden), so we basically have lived togehter our entire relationship...lol i must say it was the best decision of my life and i have been in heaven ever since

soo funny... we are the same way] it makes my friends sick to their stomach, when we go to work everyday, when we get home, we hug for like 10- minues like we havent seen each other in days, when its only been 8 hours...lol love it
