Maggie Sottero dresses

Hi Girls!

Are Maggie's good quality dresses? I don't want something that is too expensive, but I also do not want something that is going to fall apart on me very easily. Has anyone had bad experiences with Maggie Sottero dresses?

Excellent quality!!!! I couldn't believe the price when I put it on!!!!! You'll love her dresses - lots of us have Maggies!

I've read only good things on here about Maggie Sottero dresses (a part of me wish I got one too after reading all the good things about it!)

One of my MOH had a Maggie dress for her wedding dress. Not only did it hold up very well, it was absolutely gorgeous.

I love Maggie dress and definitely think they are one of the best values out there! I wouldn't worry about quality.

It's safe to say that a Maggie certainly won't fall apart on you. I think the quality is good for the price, but you can definitely see a difference if you compare it to the materials of more expensive dresses.

My dress budget was no more then 1000.00 But when I found my Maggie I did go alittile over 1500.00 But I think I was total worth it

Totally! I can't afford the more expensive dresses so hopefully no one else will notice!

I noticed the difference in materials at some of the stores I went to, I just want something affordable that won't fall apart on me.

Maggie's are EXCELLENT. very popular brand because it's affordable and have great designs. I had one and it was perfect.

I wasn't referring to your guests making a comparison, I was speaking about a bride's own expectations of the fabric. Some of us are pickier than others. And I bought my dress to please myself, not my guests.

some of us are pickier, and some of us are poorer but know a good thing when they see it- if it were up to me - I would still pick my dress even if it's $4000 dollars - like a Vera Wang... And I am SUPER picky - remember ladies - just because the price tag is high, doesn't mean it's better - I think the prices cater to people who think expensive is better... and like to make people believe that only the finest of tastes would spend that much money...

oh puleez - the whole bridal market is a sin, if you ask me...

Loved my Maggie ( Melanie) ... it took a beating and still looked brand new after my wedding!

I completely agree that expensive doesn't necessarily mean something is better. But often (not always) the difference in price means the difference of silk satin vs. full polyester satin. That's not to say I haven't seen some high price tags on full polyester satin, and in those cases you are absolutely paying for the name or just plain out getting robbed. I've also seen less expensive dresses that I thought were were quite impressive for the price. But as a general rule, as you go up in price levels, the quality improves, and that's just life. I made my observations based on what I thought of the material when I tried it on and moved around in it and touched it, not by what the price tag said. A bride asked about the quality of a Maggie and I gave her my opinion based on my experience. I certainly never said they were bad. And certainly didn't mean to rain on everyone's Maggie parade. Sadly, if I say anything other than "Maggies are awesome" every Maggie bride is going to get defensive. I don't think it does any bride any good if she only hears opinions from one side. And that's all I'm going to say on this subject.

this might seem a little "out there", but why would any dress "fall apart".

IMO, if that happens, blame the seamstress, not the MFG. you're wearing the dress for a few hours during fittings and then for 1 day. if a garment cannot last that long, sad, very sad.

I never once gave this any thought while buying a dress or wedding planning. my dress must have been excellent quality! it lasted for the 1 day I needed to wear it

I agree 1000 percent that a price tag does not make a dress. My dress is the same as lip gloss junky's and I LOVE IT! It just came in the other day and is absolutely gorgeous. I know that I will look beautiful in it! I tried on dresses that ranged in price from 500 - 4000 dollars and this was the most beautiful by far!

and by the way... in all actuality ...you are wearing the thing for what, 8 hours? To me, who cares what the material is if the price is right and you love it?
