Re: Bustles--please help
I am using a traditional bustle on my gown because you can see the whole detail of my train.
I hope these pics come out.
Pic 1- ball gown bustle
Pic 2- French bustle
Pic 3- Pickup bustle

I love this bustle, if my gown didn't have any detail to it, I would have that type.

Re: Bustles--please help
My dress has two trains actually and is rather thin. The train is also asymmetrical and does not fall right in the center of the dress (Don't mind the wrinkles - it was a fitting)

Re: Bustles--please help
i made my life easy and had a detachable train. In the begining i wanted a french buslte, but the dress i found was detacheable and it was the best thing, it made the dress so much lighter after i took it off, and i have been to so many weddings were the buttons and hookd for bustle break and the brides are constantly stopping to fix it or holding up there dress.

Re: Bustles--please help
My dress has a sweep train and therefore the bustle will be three hooks and that's it.
My sister, however, had a rather elaborate bustle and said it was a pain in the a$$. The best advise I can give is ask your dressmaker.

Re: Bustles--please help
I also have a detachable cathedral train. At first I was so-so on that, but then I remembered my friend complaining at her wedding saying the dress was heavy. I ordered that dress and I am glad it has a detachable train.

Re: Bustles--please help
Here's mine. It was done with ribbons tied together under the dress. Loved it!
(Just make sure you have a good seamstress - my best friend had a similar bustle to mine, but hers was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE)

Re: Bustles--please help
it really depends on what your dress looks like - certain dresses can only be bustled certain ways
