NWR - QUESTION TO LI TEACHERS

HI LADIES,

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR ANYONE WHO IS AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER ON LONG ISLAND. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT A CONNER TEST IS? MY SON IS HAVING SOME DIFFICULTY IN SCHOOL, AND I WAS ASKED TO FILL OUT A PARENT CONNER TEST. I THINK THE QUESTIONS ARE VERY LEADING AND I DON'T KNOW IF I WANT TO FILL IT OUT. ADVISE PLEASE!!!

Re: NWR - QUESTION TO LI TEACHERS

i am not a teacher, but i am a psych major. i *believe* the connors test is specifically for ADHD. talk to your son's school psychologist about any questions or concerns you have with this test. good luck! ~lacey

Re: NWR - QUESTION TO LI TEACHERS

I'm also not a teacher, but the Connors test is a standard screening tool for ADHD - it is supposed to assess learning and behavior problems. I believe the school gives it to the parents to get a feel for what the child is like at home. You can probably google it and find out some more info. Good luck.

The school sent this home without a note or a call from the teacher? Weird.

Well now that you know what it is I dont you think you should be apprehensive about having your son take the test. It will only help him. However, it is your decision. Good luck!

Re: NWR - QUESTION TO LI TEACHERS

I am a guidance counselor in a middle school and we do these all the time. The Connors does screen for ADD or ADHD. His teacher(s) should also be filling one out about school behavior and depending on the childs age, he could also be filling one out.

Re: NWR - QUESTION TO LI TEACHERS

as a teacher i have filled one out many times. it is a pretty accurate tool. the teacher fills our one and the parent fills out the other. it's not a bad thing!!! some of the questions are worded weird and seem repetitive. best of luck and let us know how it goes. FM me if you want!
