Spinoff to Last Fitting Question: First Fitting
How far before the wedding should I schedule my first fitting. I am getting married May 21 and I've done an initial "try-on" to make sure the dress is what I ordered etc, but no work has been done on the dress.
I still need to get my shoes and undergarments. And do you need all your accessories for the first fitting or just the shoes and undergarments?

Phyllis scheduled mine for March 11th, the same day as my response date, so I'm guessing 6 weeks before.

just make sure you have your shoes and undergarments, and have a few choices for the undergarments...one of mine didn't even come close to working!

Really? I didn't think of this. I finally got pictures of my dress developed so I know how far down my dress goes in the back. I was going to get that flattering me strapless bra so I hope that works.

I had my first fitting about 2 months before. Definitely bring your wedding day shoes or else the hem may not come out right.

The seamstress I am using said she will not start more than 6 weeks before. She would actually prefer 4 weeks.
