Update: Nervous Dress Shopping at Kleinfelds!!!
Okay Ladies so I went to Kleinfelds last night and was not as nervous as I anticpated being but I found nothing that I really loved. Also, I wasn't too happy with the consultant who helped me. Can anyone else give me some suggestions where to go. I feel really discouraged. I tried on about 25 gowns and nothing fit right. I was thinking of the Bridal Salon in Manhassett!!!!

Do you mean nothing felt right on or fit right?
You're not going to find a dress that fits right when trying on the samples. They have to adjust the dress so that it is either smaller or larger w/clips and panels and such.
I can understand how the consultant could've added to your experience negatively.
I suggest checking out RK Bridal - you can go through the racks yourself, and try anything on.
Do you have any styles in mind at all?

there's RK Bridal in hte city. there's always sample sales. you can find out when and where these sample sales are by going through NewYorkMetro.com or TopButton.com. that's how i found my gown. i've found Michelle Roth, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, Bergdorf's, etx amongst the list of designer wedding gown sample sales. good luck and don't be discouraged. your dress is out there

I had good experience at the bridal salon in manhasset....not so good at bridal reflections..and finally bought my dress at the designer's salon in NYC...

While you are in Manhassat 1 mile west to the bridal salon is Macy's. I know several brides who had great experiences in Macy's Manhasset bridal dept.
Good Luck!!!
Oh and 1 block away is Bridal Couture of Manhassat...so you can hit three places all within the same area!!

I went to Kleinfelds and also was not happy with my consultant. To be honest she seemed kind of lazy and kept looking at her watch. I had the best experinece at the Wedding Salon of Manhasset. My consultants name was Tiffany. She brought me out so many dresses and really understood what I was looking for. I also went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and had a nice experience. My consultant was very nice and patient. Good luck!

The consultant is really the most important part, I'm sorry your experience was a bust!
Look at it this way- you get to keep dress hopping! It's almost sad once you find "The one", because you can't look anymore...

I felt the same way about my consultant she kept saying ok we only have 15 minutes and then I finally told her look when I scheduled my appt. i was told 1 hour 1/2 so please stop counting down the time when we still have a 1/2 hour left. I am going to try the bridal salaon in Manhasset.

That is a shame! You should contact them and tell them that you were not satisfied with the level of customer service you received.
I purchased my dress at Kleinfelds and the consultant I worked there for over 20 + yrs. She was a doll and made my mom and I feel like royalty.
Try Cristina Arzuga.. (spelling??) She is a dress designer in NYC. My sister purchased her dress from her. She is a very sweet lady...

I too had a horrible experience at Kleinfelds. I loved Bridal Reflections at Carle Place.

It really does depend on your consultant.
I had a wonderful one (Audrey); I was there for over an hour even though my appointment was supposed to end in 60 minutes.
I only went there but have been to many places on LI with my friends. Best of luck! I hope you find something great.

I was in a bridal party and we got our dresses at kleinfelds...and I hated them..i know hate is a strong word, but they ordered me the wrong size and when it came in it was tight and they tried to say i gained weight!!! It all worked out, and they fixed everything. Don't get me wrong, I know a ton of people who have had great experiences with them, but mine was enough to turn me off for life!!

I'm sorry you had a bad experience at Kleinfelds. I had gotten my gown there and I know that they can be snotty at times but my consultant was very nice and sweet. I got my BM dresses at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and they were very nice, you should check them out.

I looked at a LOT of dresses and went to a bunch of stores before finding a dress I liked enough to order. While I didn't find THE dress at either of them, the people that helped me at both Elena's and Lillette's were very nice.
