Our Hawaiian honeymoon was wonderful! You may be able to search on my posts for a complete review. We went to Maui, the Big Island and Kauai. It was July, but it feels like ages ago now. There was so much I enjoyed...
We stayed at the Sheraton Maui, which we loved. They have wonderful snorkeling!
We stayed in Volcano on the Big Island. We hiked in the national park. If you go to the Big Island, I highly recommend the Blue Hawaii Helicopter Circle of Fire tour. We stayed at a B&B (Chalet Kiluea).
We stayed at the Hyatt in Kauai. The Hyatt was beautiful, but Kauai was my least favorite of the island. It was the least "Hawaiian." There were a lot of mainlanders living and working there. Many people love Kauai though.
We flew free using frequent flier miles with our American Airlines Visa Card. Flights are much cheaper now, but that saved us a couple thousand dollars at the time. We spent TONS of money...blew the budget way out of the water, but I don't regret it at all!

on maui - there are a lot of activities around their dormant volcanoes...ie biking down, hiking etc...
oahu - pearl harbor, nightlife, touristy (not like all of hawaii isn't touristy, but oahu and waikiki especially are.

On our honeymoon we stayed at The Maui Marriot. Maui has many things to do: The road to Hana, helicopter rides, snorkeling, biking (or driving up the volcano)
We chose to stay on one island because we didn''t want to keep packing and unpacking. You can take day trips to other islands very inexpensively, but we found so much to do on Maui that we just stayed there.

We stayed at the Halekulani on Oahu (did Pearl harbor and Waikiki) then stayed at the Grand Wailea on Maui (did golf, biked down the volcano after sunrise at the top, helicopter tour of the island and a luau), then stayed at the Four Seasons on Hawaii (did the volcano park tour and played golf). It was a spectacular trip and we had an unbelievable time. We flew 1st class and got a whole package deal with the hotels and flights inter-island and the rental cars. Still expensive, but worth every last dime!!
