Re: Cabo San Lucas in October....

I would just check out on a weather site first to see where they are in the hurricane ring. Other than that, it should be a great place!

Re: Cabo San Lucas in October....

I posted on 05 but just in case...

We were in Cabo in Septeber (mid to late) and we had a great time. The weather was pretty hot but we spent most of our time at the pool and beach during the day. We went out in the early evening and even pushed the ATVing until the late afternoon. But honestly it was such a great time and the weather really didn't interfere with anything. At night we ate outside and there was always a breeze from the Sea of Cortez.

We didn't stay at Dreams but we met another couple while in Cabo that did and they were very happy with their resort. No matter what you will have a great time. We loved Cabo.

Re: Cabo San Lucas in October....

We went to Cabo this past November (1-9th) and stayed at Dreams so i can answer anything you like! There were no hurricanes there at all. This was about 3 weeks after the hurricane that destroyed Cancun, but because its on the other side of Mexico, Cabo wasn't affected by it. The weather was sunny, dry and about 85-90 every day and about 60-70 each night. It's desert there so rarely rains.

Dreams was great - we did all inclusive and ate at all the restaurants there, as well as going into town. The food was consistently good and they always have a good variety to chose from. The look of the place is so inviting - its so clean and pretty and incredibly relaxing - all yellow buildings with marble floors, white trim and black wrought iron detailing. I would highly recommend getting a couples massage under the stars! They give you champagne and take you out onto the beach at night and give you a wonderful massage and then leave you and your hubby alone for a while to snack on choc. covered strawberries and bubbly.. it was very very nice

Only drawback to Cabo is that all the hotels are a considerable distance from the town - about 20 min. by cab. We took the bus into town a few times - it only costs a dollar but stops running at 10 p.m. After that we took cabs back and they were perfectly safe, but cost about $25-$30 each way. There really is nothing else there along the highway where the hotels are - so not a lot to do. But, we lounged by the pool all day and went out and partied at night in town.

I would also recommend doing an ATV tour - it was one of the best things we did on the HM.

If you want anymore info FM me!

Re: Cabo San Lucas in October....

As a resident of FL, I can tell you that hurricanes are still a possibility in October so I would get insurance if you're planning on going. There were several that came through FL and then went on to Mexico.

None hit Cabo- they get less then 3 inches of rain a year- it's a dessert

We went on the ATV tour also- I would only recommend it if you or your husband has been on one before- we have one- so my Hubby was good a driving it- but susieand steven were there with us- and not they had never been on a one before- it 's very hilly

now thr RUI was 10 minutes from town- and a $10 cab ride- so we went into town all the time

Mi Casa was our fav resturant, but we also liked cabo wabo, margaritaville, crazy igauna
and squid roe

the jet skis were fun, I would have liked to do the glass bottom boat tour b/c Jake went scuba diving and said it was amazing

Re: Cabo San Lucas in October....

I forgot this- we stayed at the RUI place- 10days, 9 nights- could have done the 2 weeks

All- inclusive- beautiful
the food was OK- breakfast and Lunch were good- Dinner- the buffet was good- but we went into town- that was our plan all along

drinks we plentyful and they were good!

the people were so nice, great service

we loved it and would go back

it was also closer to town- so if you plan on going into town a lot- it's something to consider

it was kinda like having the best of both worlds- resort and town together

Edited- $3900- including flights- for 10 days
not sure how they made money

I printed all the pictures of the ones recommended by Amex- then listed all the features of each place and the price for the 10 days

we took in to consideration- all inclusive, pools, beach, price, closeness to town, spa (which I never went to)

we then eliminated the cheapest and the most expensive

then the Rui was brand new- 1 year old when we went- so we picked it

we were very happy there- they gave us on the best rooms- water, beer, licqour, soda are even stocked in your room

the place is huge, clean, beautiful- check on the website- it looks just like the pictures!

and you can see the famous rock formation- it's right across the water
