Donation Favor-Need Help!!!

FH and I have decided that we want to do a donation in place of favors. We want to donate $5 a piece or so to an animal organization. How do we go about this? Do we just make up a small card or something for each guest stating this? And then we find the place we want to donate to and just give them the money? Help!

I made donations to 2 different charities as our wedding favor. I went online and both had options to donate directly from their websites so I just had to enter credit card information. The American Diabetes Association will actually send you scrolls to display or give out at your wedding explaining the donation. I had a sign posted near the head table.

thats what we did,too! we donated to the lance armstrong cancer fund ( my dad is a cancer survivor, and both of our grandpas passed away from cancer). so we just put note attached to one of the yellow " livestrong" bracelets... and i have to say we got soo many compliments on it, and we still see a lot of our guests wearing the bracelets
i like the idea of attaching a tag to a tin or thing of animal cookies....or big cookies shaped like a dog or cat

There are so many great places that help anaimals that you could donate to. There is one organization that I donate to and that is special to me it is called - PuppyMillRescue. They go and rescue dogs that have been trapped in puppymills their whole life. They will never put a dog to sleep once they rescue one and some of these dogs if not all have hefty medical bills. They foster these animals and pay for all of their medical bills until they are adopted one day. This is a non-profit organiztion and all the workers are voluteers. You should really check out the website www.puppymillrescue.com. This is a really important cause and a big problem in the United States, you would be helping to save one of these dogs and in return maybe create some more awareness about the issue of puppymills and the organization. Also you should contact whoever you are planning to donating the money to and see if there is a little write up or something that they can send you that you could give to your guests. Or you could also donate to North Shore animale league, they are amazing!! You could donate in honor of all the animals that were left homeless after hurrican Katrina.

We're donating to NY Cares and I'm having cookies made up in the shape of apples (for "the big apple") and attaching favor tags to them that explain the donation.
