Thank-you's wording

What do I write in a thank you for an engagement gift?
Do I basically write the same thing if the gift was money or an actual gift?

if it was money i would write:
Thank you for your generous gift, FH and I will be putting this towards honeymoon/house/etc

For a gift:
Thank you for the XXXXXXX ----
-it will look lovely in our dining room
-we can't wait to have you over for dinner and enjoy using it

Here are a few thank you card samples . I would basically write the same thing for cash or for a present - mention the gift, describe how you will use it, etc.
