Will go to gym 3-4 times a week. 45 min of cardio and 45 min of strength training. I also do yoga 1-2 times a week. Have to lose about 20-25 lbs

I started a log the other day, but I can use this thread instead.
This morning I just focused on shoulders and bis, with a little abs...

Last night I did 50 minutes of Precor elliptical - increasing the incline every 3 minutes (then decreasing it and going backwards). 11000 strides, 625+ calories.

FH worked out with me for the first time! He used to work out ALL the time before we got really serious (and became couch potatoes) - so hopefully we can motivate each other to stay at it

Okay, this is so lame but...
We got our daughter one of those dance mats that you hook up to a video game system for chirstmas. They have this program where you do all the dances and they count calories for you and tell you the equivalent of how many miles you've jogged. So I have been "playing" for about a half hour every other day.
Gosh, I am such a geek.

Yeah - you know - I was all gung ho about this thread, I forgot to comment on how funny that was after seeing every lady say the virtuous things they did...

yesterday..went at night to do legs, didall 8 leg machines,i do 3 sets of 30 on most of them...tonight i go to do cardio and arms

What kind of foot injury was it? You can still do exercises that do not involve your foot so you wouldn't need to wait until March (with your trainer) to start exercising You can do things on your own to at least get your body accustomed to some kind of muscular activity.

I bruised two bones - fractured another and pulled the two tendons that run along both sides of my foot. The injury was on July 4th. I was a soft cast first with crtuches. Then I moved on to a brace, but when that did not help me enough my doctor put in a walking cast. I came out of the walking cast in October. Up until now I could hardly do any aerobics.

I tried to keep up with weight training, but I just was not motivated because I was in pain all the time. Now I can at least use the ellipitcal trainer.

I met with the personal trainer yesterday and he did tell me that I don't need to wait until March.

Sorry for the long response, and thanks for the advice.

OOPS - forgot to post my workout.

yesterday: 45 mintues on the elliptical trainer
today: 30 minutes on the e-trainer
goal is to add weight training next week

I had planned to take yesterday off since FH and I had a wedding related meeting at 7 - but I was able to squeeze in 50 minutes of Precor Elliptical beforehand

Met with the trainer last night. She kicked my butt. Did some pre weight lifting warmups (bike and stair climber) and then learned some new exercises.

Let's go LADIES!! 2006 is our year to be in SHAPE!!

it's great that you are weight training! But I just wanted to give you a little advice, if tyou don't mind.
30 reps to WAY too much! you are wasting time, and I don't want that to happen.

use a higher weight, and do at most 12 reps per set, you will see amazing results, really fast.

what are your fitness goals?

I just started going again after stopping for the holidays and stuff. I've just been doing about 45 minutes of cardio. I alternate between bike, treadmill or the eliptical. I tried a class and i thought I was going to pass out...I guess I have to graduate to that level.

wow, thanks for the advice, my trainer in the past always said to do low weight and high reps to tone my legs without getting too big.. a few years ago i was doing a high weight andlower reps andmylegs got musclular but bigger, i am jsut tryin to tone them up. but maybe ill try the lower rep like you said... my fitness goals are to loose weight( by doing cardio) and toning everywhere thanks

No time for an official workout - BUT - I did work all day at my saturday job - I supervise a social skills program for kids with autism between the ages of 4-20 - all in different groups - on a huge campus - so I run everywhere, and I teach 2 dance classes for them - 1 for the older kids, 1 for the younger kids - so I have to say all in all - that is my workout...
