Reception Venue, Friday Night Wedding Under 100
Hi --
I am having the worst time finding a venue for a Friday night wedding in September 07 where the minimum is less than 100/125 people. We'll probably only have 75/85 people.
Too far out on LI isn't really an option...probably in the 516 area code. Looked into GWM when we first got engaged and was told that a Friday in September would be flexible with their 95 person minimum and now of course they are saying it's not negotiable. I've searched and searched and am losing hope.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks, Lisa

Why don't you try Bridgeview in Island Park, or even the Sandcastle in Franklin Square. Good luck in your search.

Re: Reception Venue, Friday Night Wedding Under 100
Hi Girls...Just a quick update. I spoke with someone at the Swan Club yesterday who was VERY nice. She would be willing to drop the minimums to 100 for the larger rooms. They do have a room for 40-75 people, which probably means it fits 65 comfortably, and that is too small. Either we're going to have to cut our guest list a lot or plan for more people, and I don't want to do either. I'm so frustrated I'm ready to give up.
To the person who suggested Deversky, I think that place is GORGEOUS. But it's also insanely expensive for us and some of the fees are just ridiculous (I think it was $1000 to set up chairs?).
Thanks for all of the suggestions..I'm still looking into some of these places.

Re: Reception Venue, Friday Night Wedding Under 100
No $1000 to set up chairs
I am getting married there!
It is $1000 to have the ceremony there, and this includes a hospitality station, but I am finding out it is about the same price to have the cermony at my church... $750 for the chruch, $250 pre cana... and then limos!!!!
I already booked my chruch... but still thinking...
GOOD LUCK!!!! Anywhere you book you will have a beautiful wedding!!!

Re: Reception Venue, Friday Night Wedding Under 100
I booked Swan Club - I am in the larger room, 165 guarantee (would not budge) but the medium sized room which holds up to 165 was only a minimum of 120. (for both sat and sunday).

Re: Reception Venue, Friday Night Wedding Under 100
if you don't ming Queens, Fluer de lis has a minimum of like 50. The smallest room fits up to like 85. Our room is 90-130 guests.

I second the Chateau La Mer. I booked there and the smaller room you have to guarentee 100 people and the room can hold 170. Also sand castle, floral terrace, and coral house are reasonable....Good luck planning!

Milleridge Cottage/Inn in Hicksville. They are both beautiful. One you have to have a minimum of 125, I think, but the other one (I think it's the Inn, is a maximum of 125. ) BOth are very nice. They are partners with George Washington Manor.

Also, where I booked my wedding, Stewart Manor COuntry CLub (in Stewart Manor, next to Garden City) has a minimum of only 100.

Hi Lisa! I know the search can be frustrating. Don't give up, you'll find something! Take a look at San Souci in Sea Cliff. It's on the LI Sound/water setting, romantic and intimate. I think it only seats around 120.
Good luck!
