High or Low centerpieces
Right now I have high centerpieces, but I really like low ones too, the only problem is that I have oval tables and smaller centerpieces may take up more room. What do the ladies of LIW think:?

Re: High or Low centerpieces
I think it also depends on the size of your room too? Where are you getting married? How big is the room?

Re: High or Low centerpieces
I always loved high....between the price and the fact that the ceilings are a bit low, we started to consider low...but then, like you the low for an oval table can be in the way if not done with consideration.....therefore we have been liking the idea of a slim high centerpiece with a narrow base. I am liking a calla lilly centerpiece...something like this....
hope this helps!!!!

I personally love high centerpieces. I feel as if the low ones get lost on the table.

Why not have both? I'm having 7 low and 7 high. Best of both worlds.
There are low centerpieces that are not that big. You can customize them any way you want. Ask your florist, they should be able to give you some ideas in "style and scale" for the CP. Good luck!!!

I am doing low only becasue I hate how the high ones get in people's way. I want my guests to be able to talk freely...
Oh yeah and they are less expensive, I am trying to cut costs where I can......

Re: High or Low centerpieces
We were going to mix it up and do half high and half low but I'm going for all high. I like that my florist is going to fill the clear vases with water and white flowers.
Which look do you prefer? Does your hall or florist have pictures of low CPs on oval tables to give you a better idea of what it will look like?

I am thinking of going with a high CP. I saw a tall skinny vase that I like at fantasyland.

Low for me....less expensive, don't get in the way of conversation across the table, and I want my guests to enjoy the pretty flowers....

Thats not always true. My sister had low centerpieces and they were only $25 less than mine but her wedding was 16 years ago. Her centerpieces today would cost about $25-50 more than mine and mine are high.

Re: High or Low centerpieces
I am thinking here and with all of the weddings I have been to in my lifetime, I have NEVER had a problem with high floral arrangements interfering with my ability to communicate effectively with the other guests seated at my table. Moving my head one inch to the side is not what I would consider an inconvenience. Just a thought.

I have, and I've been to about 20 weddings in the past 4 years....most had high CPs and most made it hard to talk across the table. I didn't really care b/c I'm usually dancing. I've definitely seen them done where they don't interfere...it completely depends on the setup, I think.

We have oval tables and are getting low cps. We told the florist about the tables, and he is making them oval to fit with the table.
