since everyone is bored wanna listen to my vent.....
here is the situation
my fh and his friends are playing poker the other night. one of his friends tells him ohh the electrical work im doing on you new co-op is going to be your wedding present. (thank goodness i wasnt there)
All of you would think "hey thats great" however my fh fixes and works on there computers all the time no matter how long what time of day or night.
He lives with his girlfriend and we are going to be there neigbors. his girlfriend causes alot of drama and has torn his family apart with her "thoughts". I think this bright idea came from her. meanwhile they are very well off $$$$ wise. So that shouldnt be an issue for them.
I feel like saying to her okay ill log all of the hours my fh spends on your computers and that will be your wedding gift if he ever proposes to your pshyco arse!!!!!
my take on this is that if he is our friend and we already bought all the eletrical supplies dont you think he would do this just as friends i dunno. i am at a loss and im sure i am making no sence to all of you.
all of my friends have offered to help us any way they can. i just feel confused about this situation.

If I was being my normal b!thcy self, I would turn around and say ---look money is tight so we can only invite you to our wedding not your GF.
But don't say anything ----IT ISN'T WORTH IT

I'm an electrician.... so it depends.... what exactly needs to be done..... is it a whole lot?
ETA: Don't get me wrong.... the girl does sound like a jerk but I do know that some friends expect help cause they think some jobs are a piece of cake. Unfortunately I've been there, hence the defensive side

were getting high hats put in a few ceiling fans moving a light switch. and now i want to find him some other stuff to do if this is going to be it.
like i said my fh fixes all of there computer problems and never askes them or anyone for anything.
i hear you though about people just assuming that they are going to help you. but my fh asked him if he would help and he said yes.
i have to just let this go i guess.

So you are talking about $1000 worth of work probably. I would just let it go. Or just let the men deal with it. She is not going to be around forever!!!! You FH's friend will be.

I have a different out look on this situation because I know someone that would charge any of his friends for his labor (electric work). I feels like this is his profession and he won't do it for free.
Everyone thinks differently honestly if it was my profession I would do it for free. I would help a friend out in need.
It's a sticky situation but I would say don't fix the computers anymore for free.
