XPOST from Newlywed Board - Has anyone done or ever considered doing some photo reshoots?
I've been miserable this week. There are many photos I'm not happy with. I first must say that it's no fault of the photographer. If anyone has read my review, you would know that the vendor I hired to do my hair was a no show in the morning and it messed up the entire timeline of the day. Many pictures were rushed and many pictures were not taken.
We got our proofs this week, and I can't even look at them without crying. The pictures in the morning are gorgeous. The pictures after the ceremony are okay and were rushed because of time constraints. Therefore many of our blended family pictures were taken at the reception while our guests were eating (late into the reception) We were all tired, drained and VERY stressed by this point. And it's VERY VERY evident in the pictures. In addition, you can tell, I had been very upset at this point and had been crying. My 14 year old sister missed all the family pictures and the special pictures I had planned between myself and my three sisters (special one on one photos) because she was having her hair finished up until 10 minutes before the ceremony. She is very upset and feeling very left out.
DH came home from work last night and found me sitting on the couch looking at the proofs and crying. He suggested maybe doing a reshoot with my sister and myself. I'm just not sure you can recapture those emotions you are feeling on your wedding day.
The more I think about it, the more I see the pictures and especially the more I saw on our raw footage video, the more upset and angry I get at this LIW vendor. I know in the end the most important thing is that I'm married to my soulmate, but this was my WEDDING DAY and NO BRIDE SHOULD EVER FEEL THE WAY I DID ON THAT DAY.
I don't know if I can get past this. But at this point I don't even want an album because I dont' want to see myself upset on my wedding day. I'm so sick over the whole thing. And can't stop crying everytime I think about it.

first, I am so sorry Michelle! that's terrible.
I can tell you that MayBride05 (I think that's her LIW name) did a re-shoot at the beach after her wedding b/c they were not allowed to take pics at their hall for some reason. you may want to contact her and ask her about it. she posted her proofs not too long ago and they are so nice.
Also, call your photographer and ask him/her what they recommend.
Good luck!!

aww, im sorry to hear this!
I too was seriously depressed at my proofs b/c there were no shots of me getting ready, or my grand enterence, or the morning b/c my hair ran 45 LATE!
But i realize how happy I am for the ones i do have. Give it some time. Dont let it upset you , but i agrre with Dina, maybe you can get all done up again and get some taken elsewhere
Good Luck!!

If you are that sincerely unhappy then go for it! You'll be able to wear your gorgeous gown again, and I am sure your sister would love it too. That was very thoughtful of your hubby to suggest that. To make it up to you maybe your c rappy hair chick could do it for free?!? Have her make it up to you!

My photographer showed us pics of a reshoot they did...It poured on the day this couple got married and they didn't get many outdoor shots..so they picked another day..the bride got her hair and makeup done and everything and even got another Bok and they went to Planting Fields and had another shoot

I'm sooooo sorry! I was also going to mention MayBride05 had a an addtional shoot on the beach and in NYC and the pictures were absolutely gorgeous. She got so many great shots. If it's something you feel you have to do to get closure, go for it! Did you want more outside pictures, or more of a city scene? Whatever scene your pictures are lacking, have a shoot there with you, your FH, and your sister.

My photographer offered to give us a reshoot. I feel the same way u do. The only problem now is picking a day that's not too cold. It will be fun getting dressed again. Even if the emotions won't be the same, at least i'll have great pics.
