Has anyone ever considered or have done some photo reshoots?

I've been miserable this week. There are many photos I'm not happy with. I first must say that it's no fault of the photographer. If anyone has read my review, you would know that the vendor I hired to do my hair was a no show in the morning and it messed up the entire timeline of the day. Many pictures were rushed and many pictures were not taken.

We got our proofs this week, and I can't even look at them without crying. The pictures in the morning are gorgeous. The pictures after the ceremony are okay and were rushed because of time constraints. Therefore many of our blended family pictures were taken at the reception while our guests were eating (late into the reception) We were all tired, drained and VERY stressed by this point. And it's VERY VERY evident in the pictures. In addition, you can tell, I had been very upset at this point and had been crying. My 14 year old sister missed all the family pictures and the special pictures I had planned between myself and my three sisters (special one on one photos) because she was having her hair finished up until 10 minutes before the ceremony. She is very upset and feeling very left out.

DH came home from work last night and found me sitting on the couch looking at the proofs and crying. He suggested maybe doing a reshoot with my sister and myself. I'm just not sure you can recapture those emotions you are feeling on your wedding day.

The more I think about it, the more I see the pictures and especially the more I saw on our raw footage video, the more upset and angry I get at this LIW vendor. I know in the end the most important thing is that I'm married to my soulmate, but this was my WEDDING DAY and NO BRIDE SHOULD EVER FEEL THE WAY I DID ON THAT DAY.

I don't know if I can get past this. But at this point I don't even want an album because I dont' want to see myself upset on my wedding day. I'm so sick over the whole thing.

I can totally relate to how you're feeling. I have been dealing with the same thing. I am also considering retaking our pics, because we have no outdoor pics, and their are more shots of my family members, and guest, than there are of us( me and DH). Its so upsetting. Maybe u can ask your photographer if he can do a retake for you.

I'm sorry you are dealing with the same issue. I have been jsut miserable and every time I think about it I just cry and cry.

We only have 4 or 5 alone pictures to choose from for our Thank Yous.

Part of me is very reluctant to even consider it, because I don't think you can re-create that joy and excitement. Yes, it ight be fun to wear my dress again and have my hair and make up done again. But it's just not the same.

I'm so sorry you are feeling this way.

I think a reshoot is a great idea. Yes, of course it won't be the same - it's not your wedding! I would focus not on "recreating" the wedding day - because that is impossible. How about focusing just on the fun of getting another chance to get dressed up and play wedding? Throw a (spiked) punch and pie party for everyone involved and make light of it! If you try too hard to recreate and focus on how awful it was first time around, I think that same tension will translate in the new pics.

Go for it - have fun - make an afternoon of it. You deserve it!

I think you should do a reshoot, and demand that the photographer do them free of charge. How many proofs did you get total? You should have more than 4 or 5 of the two of you however. I didn't even count ours, but I know we have more than that.

The more posts I read, the happier I am with our photos. The proofs took a very long time, but we got what we wanted taken and then some. While the wait wasn't a good thing, I'd rather have what we wanted.

Hi,

Definately do a reshoot it will make you feel so much better. It poured on our wedding day, we had no outside pictures and were pretty upset, so we went to the park and retook pictures 2 days after my wedding. Minus my tiara since it was misplaced after the wedding, but everyone who saw the pics and were at the wedding, never even realized they werent taken the same day. People never even remembered that it poured so bad that day. Heres some of the 2 day later pics, Hope everyone doesnt get mad that im posting these,

My question...do the photographers charge for a follow up photo session?

Re: Has anyone ever considered or have done some photo reshoots?

Ya know, the more I read these threads about brides not liking their proofs and doing a reshoot, the more I am tempted to do one also. I got the OK last night from my DH, mom, BIL and SIL and all are ready when I am. We'll see how it goes and I may just do one here in NC

Re: Has anyone ever considered or have done some photo reshoots?

Just spoke with photographer - owner agreed to a follow up complimentary photo session in the spring.
Feel a sense of hope...hoping that we have some shots worthy of putting on the walls.
.
It makes me feel better, so I believe you should go for it. It will make the next 5 mths better for me, and keep me focused on being fit.
.
Now I must find someone to do my hair again without spending a fortune.
DH plans on renting the tux again as well.
Thank you ladies for posting this topic because I felt like I was alone in this.
