WR - can I just cut fabric?

I have some left over fabric from my bridesmaids shawls and I want to send some to my FG's mom for the FG's dress. Plus, I want to have a pocket square made out of it for a guy that is standing on my side....I am sooooo not domestic....can I just use a pair of scissors to cut some of the material to send to the FG's mom????

I would try to make the swatches as small as possible without having jagged edged fabric.

Meaning, if you want to use the extra material from the Bridesmaids to wrap their boquet in...

ok...but I can I just use a pair of scissors to cut some swatches? Or, do I need to go to a tailor to have them do it? I don't want the fabric to start fraying...

You can use regular (sharp) scissors.
