Photographer Question/Vent

I was just looking over the photographer contract and was about to send in my deposit when i decided to read the fine print! My photographer covers 10 hours and then anything additional is $200 per hour. They come 2 hours prior to ceremony, so they will be at my house at 12:30, chirch is at 2:30, then reception isnt until 7:30. That means that im only covered till 10:30, so i would have to pay an additional $400! My photo contracts is already $6200 and i still have to tip them!

Has anyone else run into this problem? Do you think they will neg. it? I just feel like when all is said and done spending $7000 is a lot of money!

Vent Over! Thanks girls!

Re: Photographer Question/Vent

I think you should definitely address and try to negotiate, especially if you were not told

Re: Photographer Question/Vent

If you haven't given them the deposit, you definitely have room to negotiate.

Re: Photographer Question/Vent

i agree with the other ladies--address the issue and re-negotiate. if they say "oh don't worry that will be waived" or whatever...MAKE SURE THEY NOTE IT ON THE CONTRACT!!

golden rule of vendors: if it ain't in writing--it ain't nothing!

i'm sure the photographer might work with you if you say that you will book somewhere else if you have to pay that add'l $400...they will not want to lose your business if you are paying that much.

Re: Photographer Question/Vent

a quick tip to try and save on tax.. (this goes for all vendors) if you have a freind or family member who lives out of state.. you use their address and you don't have to pay the tax :o)

hope this helps
