Re: Suggestions on alternative honeymoon ideas
I love the Marriott Marquee in Time Square. We ate at J.W. steakhouse in the Marriott and it was delicious. Also "The View" restaurant in the Marriott is suppose to be really good. It is a revolving restaurant.
My cousin who lives in Manhattan says "The W hotels" are the best!!
If you haven't seen Wicked yet, get tickets. Such a great play. Mamma Mia is also fantastic. You could go to Madamme Tusseds wax museum, that was fun. Take a horse carriage ride through central park.

I have heard great things about the W hotels too.
I have stayed at the InterContinental Barclay for an anniversary and it was great!!! We got upgraded to a suite and it was so nice.

The Tribeca Grand Hotel...it's stunning and they have an amazing lounge and restaurant right downstairs...also, my friend's lounge is directly across the street if you decide to party!

The Ritz Carlton Battery Park is beautiful, especially if you get a Harbor View room. You look out the window at the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the Verazzano Bridge. FH & I stayed there twice and loved it both times. The poeple are very nice, and downtown on the water is a romantic location

If you want to stay somewhere really romantic, try the Inn at Irving . They have a beautiful high tea at Lady Mendels, in the parlor and it is close to Union Sqaure and all of the great restaurants

Re: Suggestions on alternative honeymoon ideas
get yourselves a couple's massage close to where you'll be staying!!!!!! make sure you get one that has private jacuzzi time afterwards. oasis day spa has a couple's massage, not sure which location. regardless, you'll see couples massages advertised a lot around valentine's day. Check out what hotels are doing for valentines day packages for some other romantic ideas that you can use on your wedding weekend.

Re: Suggestions on alternative honeymoon ideas
Great post! If there is a job change for FH or I we'll have a similar issue. We were thinking of a long weekend in NYC in a botique hotel or Bed and Breakfast in NYC. There are great mansions that have rental rooms. I agree with all of the other suggested activities. FH and I love to eat out and would def do a show and dinner. You can do an internet search for BB in NYC- there are afiliations of small hotels that are beautiful!!...good luck!
