Timeshares for Honeymoon in Hawaii?
Has anyone used or plan on using timeshare accomodations for their honeymoon? We are planning on doing this in Hawaii and I was wondering if anyone can recommend any places.
Also, my friend told me I should not stay in the Princeville section of Kauai because it's rainy. There are a ton of places there it seems so I'm wondering if anyone has any info!
I posted the other day on BHB, I forgot there was a separate honeymoon thread, sorry!!!

Re: Timeshares for Honeymoon in Hawaii?
My parents own a timeshare in Hawaii with Shell vacation club and I believe it trades with RCI. They said there are a few shell resorts in Hawaii and they are all 5 star. The site is www.shellvacationclub.com. Also, Fairfield resorts has a few in Hawaii and they are supposed to all be 5 star as well. They trade with RCI as well and the site is www.fairfieldresorts.com. I would definately consider using a timeshare if we owned one. You can't beat the price or quality you get in most of the resorts. Good luck!!

Re: Timeshares for Honeymoon in Hawaii?
Thanks! Ours is through Starwood that trades through RCI so that's great info. I saw the Shell ones on their website and they looked really nice!

I am glad that you replied about RCI, we are just starting to look into it, I also heard that you can trade it in for a cruise so we might do that, I will look up what places you posted thanks!

Re: Timeshares for Honeymoon in Hawaii?
I posted this awhile ago.
We ended up staying at Club Intrawest Poipu Point in Kauai and were very happy there. It was very quiet (as was all of Kauai) and close to the Hyatt (we walked there for dinner and to use the spa).
You can trade the week for a cruise but, you still have to pay extra (mainly since things like food are included on a cruise).
