Table names...

FH and I were thinking of table names that we might be able to use. We have only been to FL and PA together and we live in NYC so the streets are all numbered! We thought of town named but don't really like that idea....any other ideas I'm missing?

Re: Table names...

What about using something like the word Love in different languages? What do you guys like together? sports, wine, a favorite book or author? restaurants, plays?

Re: Table names...

I was at a wedding recently where the tables were named:
Love (head table), Destiny, Fate, Inspiration, Joy, etc.

I think it would be cute to name them places you have been together or some of your favorite things.

We used CDs we both love, and put pictures of those CDs on the placecards and table numbers.

Re: Table names...

Since you live in NYC you could do area names, SOHO, Grammercy, Tribeca, Yorkville, Murray Hill, Turtle Bay, etc. Or you could name them after popular places in the city (Central Park, Rockefeller Center) and have the tables have pics of these things.

We are doing this for DC- taking pictures in front of the monuments for each of the tables.

Re: Table names...

You could pick street names that you lived on. Think of college, city apartments, your grandparents street, street of your first date or favorite restaruant. Our friends did streets, we sat at Yankee Stadium-168th. Our Boston friends were at Fenway Park.

Or favorite beach or hobbies.

We are doing a beach themed wedding and naming the tables after sea shells. the groosman are going to be at the mussels table and the bridesmaids are still up in the air. Maybe mermaids. Got any ideas?

Steal away!! I might do the one with City landmarks and taking pics of them- I'm in a photography class and one of my ideas was to take pics of numbers and develop the prints myself- FH thought it was a nice personal touch. The landmark idea is better. I hope I can still use the photography lab in Jan!!

Restaurants are the next idea- b/c FH and I love to eat out-I'd take pics of them but our fave one in LIC doesn't look like much! Maybe I can do indoor shots for those...mmm...

Great suggestions! Thanks!

Re: Table names...

Think about your interests. Example: DH and I are both into theatre so we named the tables after shows we had been in since we were together. Or, if you love NYC, get small 5x7 or 8x10's photos of famous NYC landmarks and have that instead of a table number.

So far the landmark idea is in the lead! I like it and can incorporate my new photography skills! That or the restaurant names...I'll see what FH thinks!

Re: Table names...

My FH and I are pagan, so we are going to put the names of different pagan gods and goddesses for the name of each table along with a number so people can see the order.
We orgionally were going to use the knights of the round table, but I wanted to use womans names as well and then we just though about using famious medieval people, but that idea fell through.
You could use flowers, movies, song names, character names from TV shows, plays, books, movies, or you could use names of different countries you want to go to.

Heres an idea! Why not play names!
Example:
Rent
Cats
Moving on out
Phantom of the Opera
The Lion King

I bet that would be a hit with your guest!

That's an idea too...I like the "love", "devotion" etc one too but with 18 tables I think I'd run out of names....for countries that we'd like to visit-I think some people would be freaked out at the "Turkey" table- we like exotic locales that make people make faces! (at least my boss makes faces at them!)

All great ideas tho!

This is a great idea too- I have a friend that I will mention this to for her wedding!
