Question about hotel room on day of my wedding...
I have a room reservation for the night of my wedding, but we want to get ready in that hotel room. Since check-in time is usually in the afternoon, how can I get into the room at like 9am? Is the hotel going to charge me $$$$ to check-in way early?

I had the same problem. My wedding is at 8:00pm. Check In time is at 3:00. However, I have to be ready by 5:30 for the photographer. I wanted the hair and make-up people come to my hotel room.
The hotel told me that can not guarantee an earlier check-in, unless I wanted to pay the extra day. That is a negative. So I decided to play it safe and go to the salons.

ugh! that's so annoying that they won't help you out. we have a big hotel block at this place, so I am going to be irate if they aren't nice about this

I don't know if all hotels work this way-but ours is giving us our suite for free if we meet a minimum number of rooms. We are checking in for Thurs/Fri/Sat and so far we already have one free night in the suite. I would ask. If you have a big block of rooms, I cannot see why they wouldn't throw it in.

Because you need it so early I don't see any hotel agreeing to let you use the room for free as they loose money from a paying guest. Check out is 11 at most places so you'd be there too early if it was booked.
I understand that money gets tight. Talk to them but I honestly don't think that they'll do that unless you have a lot of guests there. Maybe if it's just a regular room and not a suite....good luck.

I asked a friend of mine who works at the front desk of a hotel and this is what she said..
Yes, they're going to charge you.
Think about if you were a guest in a hotel and you were told that you had to check out of your room early because someone else wanted to check into that room early. As a guest, you wouldn't appreciate that.
The hotel would have to guarantee that noone was in your room the night before, and the only way to do that would be if you book it. Otherwise they lose out on a potential booking.
Now, if you have many rooms that are being booked at that same hotel, maybe just maybe you can ask for a favor..

thanks for asking your friend for me!! yeah, I figure we're going to have to pay...hey, what's another $300 after all is said and done
