Higher heels or fuller crinoline?

My dress has been in and I tried it on. It's about a half inch to an inch too long. So I now need either higher shoes or a fuller crinoline.

While I like the idea of a fuller crinoline, because the dress I think needs to be slightly fuller, it's hard to find a very full crinoline without hoops. So I am left thinking my best bet is higher heels. But I have a bad knee, so that makes me hesitate. What would you opt for??

I didn't spend much on either, so I'm not out much if I buy a new crinoline or new shoes.

Here's me in the dress and the dress on the website

I think a fuller crinoline would be great for the dress and for your feet!

Re: Higher heels or fuller crinoline?

I think that you should go for the fuller dress. You take too much of a risk of your knee hurting or your feet hurting and then you wont enjoy your day. What my best friend did was take the crinoline that was on her slip and pin pieces of it up higher so that the crinoline lifted the dress. That way, she didnt have to get a slip with hoops.

Re: Higher heels or fuller crinoline?

Def a fuller crinoline....w/ the amount of time that you will be on your feet the wedding day, you are not going to want higher heels, IMO

Re: Higher heels or fuller crinoline?

janna,

the dress looks beautiful on you!

i'd go with the fuller crinoline. you don't want to aggravate your bad knee and be uncomfortable the whole day. maybe they can even add in some layers directly to the dress so you can avoid a crinoline with hoops...

Re: Higher heels or fuller crinoline?

With that dress, I would definitely go with bigger crinoline.

ETA: My sister has a really big crinoline from her dress without hoops. I know (since I already asked) you can borrow it to try with the dress, and if it works she'll sell it (cheap).

fuller crinoline by far...question though, why can't you just have them take it up a little?

It would ruin the dress. I already had it made by the manufacturer for the hollow to hem measurement, because I was told shortening the dress any other way would ruin it. The original sample was about 3 inches too long. I was surprised they got it this close. But when I tried it on, I had to keep kicking up just to walk forward, so I know it has to either be fuller, or I would need higher heels.

As for the hoops question, crinolines either come with wire hoops underneath or just tulle netting. I'll see if I can find a picture of both to give you an idea.

Thanks for all of the opinions!! I guess I'll go the fuller crinoline route!!

Re: Higher heels or fuller crinoline?

I never go for higher heels, so you know what my answer is!

If you do get a hoop, I bet the length will be so perfect. But that's if you want a hoop!
