Attn: early '06 brides!
I was at the post office the other day, and the girl on line ahead of me had a question about her invites. I am a nosey eavesdropper, so here is the story: She asked a question that made sense. Her response cards are due back January 18th, 10 days or so after the postage increase. Since the new stamps are not available yet, she was concerned that the response cards would not be delivered with the insufficient postage. The postman said this: There is generally a grace period of a week or so, where they will let is fly that you don't have the appropriate postage. BUT, even so- they will still be delivered to the end recipient, with a bill for the balance of insufficient postage due.
Just thought I'd save a headache.

Re: Attn: early '06 brides!
Thanks. My response cards are due back the same day as that lady. I am not taking my chances and we decided to simply put 60 cent stamps on both the outside envelopes and the inside response card envelopes. It will cost us about $35 dollars more to do that. With what we spent on our invites, I refuse to make them look ugly by putting a two cent stamp on them in addition to the 37 cent stamp. It is worth the $35 to me and will save me the inconvenience and aggravation. My peace of mind is worth it that close to the wedding!
