Who changed their name on their passport?
How did you go about it? Do you have to surrender your old one?

Me too, you just send your old one in and they write in the back your new name and send it back, the whole process took about a month for me.

Re: Who changed their name on their passport?
Just as a note - I just did this (sidenote - can I just say how annoyed I was that I had to send that stuff in - they folded my marriage certificate which I had carefully placed in a large envelope with cardboard so it wouldn't get bent- and then all they did was stamp something on the back page ) Grr, but anyway, While in the process, I checked on that website and saw that it says they won't be doing the amending thing anymore. That people will basically have to do it as if they are renewing - and pay a fee if you do it more then a year since the marriage. Chaning name in passport
Now, I just did it last month and this site says that won't just amend after Sept 2005. I got concerned when I read this since I had already sent it in, so I called and they told me that they were "finishing up" just the last ones that were submitted and then they would no longer be doing it. Like I said, I just did it and it went through, but I don't know how much longer they will do it that way.

Re: Who changed their name on their passport?
I was cheap and didn't want to pay the fee to get a new passport, so I used my maiden name on the passport and will get it changed before our next trip out of the country - and who knows when that will be lol

Re: Who changed their name on their passport?
I just figured I'd use my old passport and bring my marriage license along.
You can still do that, right? I couldn't find anything about it online...
