Bridesmaids Dress Dilemma

I have five bridesmaids, including MOH. Since most of the dresses out there are either strapless or spaghetti straps, that is really narrowing it down for me, since a couple of my BMs don't want shoulders completely showing, or spaghetti straps. We've agreed on raspberry as color, but if anyone else has gone through this and picked a dress that everyone was happy with, I'd appreciate some direction.

Help! No one agrees!

Thanks.

How about having a wrap? I know David's has separates where you can get a top that's not strapless/spaghetti straps.

Re: Bridesmaids Dress Dilemma

hmmm... This is pretty... (Raspberry is third one in..)

When searching for you I found a few different shades of Raspberry.

We went with Impressions Cinnamon color for our wedding. I also had the hardest time finding something for my BP to wear. Both MOH and BM are older and did not want to wear spaghetti straps or strapless either. We found the two pieces from Impressions to work the BEST. I didn't see Raspberry though. BUT if you are interested in the Impressions two piece line get them from Netbride.com...save you TONS of money!
Here's my "girls".

Re: Bridesmaids Dress Dilemma

i love the separates idea... where you get the dresses in the same color but different styles... if my girls didnt agree on the same dress, i would have definitely gone that route... i also think the easiest way to pick out a dress is to actually go shopping with all the girls... that way you can see how they actually look on them, and not just imagine it by looking at a super skinny model wearing the dress...

None of my girls want to wear strapless either, although they said they would wear spaghetti straps.

Re: Bridesmaids Dress Dilemma

I was recently in a wedding and the bride allowed us all to pick our style of dress as long as we stuck to the same color. Great idea!

Re: Bridesmaids Dress Dilemma

I have a BP that ranges in size from less than zero up to 16 (BM size 20). They range in age from 12-35. There was no way that a 35 year old in a size 16 would look or feel the same as a child in a petite size. She requested a modest dress and took it upon herself to order a wrap at her expense. I could not ask the other girls to do that as they had children in the BP who they had to dres as well. The teens are NOT Jr. BMs they are full fledged BM's. We all agreed that the best thing to do to accommodate all ages and sizes was to choose ONE dress designer, ONE color and different dresses. The adults chose 2-piece sets. The teens chose 1-piece dresses which ended up being more appropriate for their oh-so-teeny-tiny-figures.

The first dress and the dress below it are 1-piece dreses and the other three are sets. Everyone is happy.

Re: Bridesmaids Dress Dilemma

Ths dress looked great on all types form size 2 to size 16! The material (chiffon) is very forgiving. Not sure if they have rasberry color. Good luck!

Re: Bridesmaids Dress Dilemma

I went through this very same problem with my bridal party. I didn't want anyone to wear strapless or spaghetti straps. I did end up finding a gown that everyone agreed upon, that was flattering on each one of them, that they won't be pulling up all night long. Jordan has a very good selection of dresses that are not strapless or spaghetti strapped.

Nevermind that, but the fact that this is the 06 board and 2006 has been over for quite a few months so obviously we're all married already!!??!!!
