NYC restaurant for an Engagement Party

Hi all

I would like to have a small engagement party, about 30 people, in a manhattan restaurant. I would prefer a place that has a private room or area blocked off, and has good drinks. Either that or a lounge that has a blocked off room and serves appetizers/food as well as drinks.

Does anyone have any suggesstions? Has anyone been to a good e-party in manhattan?

Small...around $2000 (MAX) for about 20-25 people.

Divine Bar has great rates. Give them a call for a quote. I think they told me $40/pp with open bar.

Mo's Caribbean on the Upper East Side. A friend of ours had her e-party there and it was SUPER fun, it's mexican, but they have great appetizers, awesome drinks, a private room in the back of the restaurant. It's honestly a fun place for an engagement party.

Mo's Caribbean on the Upper East Side. A friend of ours had her e-party there and it was SUPER fun, it's mexican, but they have great appetizers, awesome drinks, a private room in the back of the restaurant. It's honestly a fun place for an engagement party.

does anyone have any more suggestions?

My fav restaurant is sushi samba, but that is not affordable for this event. I'd like something eclectic but still with good service. the party would range in age from 25-40.

I'm going to look into thor and candela too.

if you like italian food, i would recommend Carmine's. it's awsome food, and they have a party area..

a great (free) source of restaurants is Paintthetownred.net and Iris at IGMC. If you google IGMC you'll find her.
I used them to find the venue for my eparty and wedding. they have hundreds of options for any budget and they can usually get you a better deal cause they work with the venues. Good luck!

let us know what you decide on. i think painthetown is better for restaurants and iris is better for larger places. remember to be patient with their suggestions. i remeber wheni went looking for venues i saw what seemed like a million before i saw one that i was remotely interested in. Good luck!

Ava Lounge in the Dream Hotel offers great views of Times Square from the Penthouse floor and offers catering from Dean and Deluca.

We are looking at casual places for our RD and our two favorites are Tony's DiNapoli and Petes Tavern. Both have private rooms and reasonable prices!
