Went to Wedding - Russo's on the Bay
Last night my FI and I attended a wedding at Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach. It was FABULOUS! Any bride getting married there is really in for a treat!
This wedding had 400 guests (about 35 tables)! The cocktail hour was held in a long, narrow room overlooking the canal. The main ballroom is huge and breathtaking. There is use of wood and paintings on the walls to make it look like a "living room" and the chandeliers are gorgeous. They even have flat-screen TVs that come out of the ceiling so that the guests in the back can see the "traditional reception events" such as the entrances, first dance, etc.
Nothing, however, compared to the Viennese hour which was held in the cocktail hour room. You name the dessert, they had it...cotton candy, popcorn, soft pretzels, gummy bears, chocolate covered marshmallows, crepes, make your own sundaes, pastries, cheesecake, candy apples, make your own chocolate covered strawberries, waffles & ice cream! There were about 15-20 stations. Amazing!
Some general words of advice: The videographer used REALLY bright lighting which just so happened to be next to my table. You may not want that as it was very disturbing to everyone in my area. Also, when the band took breaks, the room was very quiet (no background music). Just something to think about when planning.
Otherwise, what a beautiful wedding and good luck to the future Russo brides!!!
