Repost from 2006-When do I start looking for my dress

Hey everyone. Sorry to repost this, but I meant to do it on this section so I could get responses from people who have already gotten their dresses. I was thinking of starting to look for my dress in early January for my November 2006 wedding....Is that enough time? It seems like everyone has their dress already---Is 10 months enough time to find a dress and make sure its there on time???? Or should I be already looking.Thanks!!

Early January is still fine. You may want to just browse now, see what styles you like, because you will want to make a decision EARLY 2006. Most manufacturers will be closed december . So the order wouldn't be processed at that time anyway.

I think that is enough time. I think the average time it takes for the dress to be made is about 6 months - add a month or 2 for alterations. Then you need to give yourself some time to find it. If you're ready to look, then you should start looking. Some people find their dress at the first store, some 20 stores later. Personally, I'd rather have too much time than too little.
