OMG my FI almost took off his wedding ring finger off last night.

Well, here the story since last week his been cutting down the tree in the front yard, and yest. when I was coming home from work at 5:00 I pull up to the house and his holding a towel full of blood. His like I need stitches. WHAT? He said he put down the chainsaw and he turned it off, he grabbed a piece of wood right next to it and it got his two fingers. I had to drive him to his mom doctors office we ran in, the doctor stitched his middle finger up, and he said he couldn't stitch up the ring finger b/c its up so bad. Theres know skin the grab. I feel so bad. I tell him all the time leave the dam tree alone.

P.S we can't take the pic's of our rings on our fingers.. he'll have such bad scares

I think scars are very sexy (as long as they're not disfiguring a face) but think of the alternative - he could have lost his finger.

OMG..well at least that's the worst that happen. Be grateful he'll just have a scar and didn't lose a finger or two. I hope he feels better.

Sorry something so terrible has happened.

You never really know how the scars will turn out. maybe not bad at all.

I had surgery a few years ago and the scar was ugly and now better. I think that Vitamin E oil helped at the beginning. Then later, my dermatoligist had me try a few things and something worked (not sure which because I was going crazy trying things). I think the scars faded when we tried Retin A--which is more known to do other things, but it can fade scars, according to my Dr. Once the scars become a normal color, they look a lot better , even if the skin texture is different.

Glad he didn't lose that finger!!!

Wow!! I'm so sorry for your FI! Tell him not to worry about the scars... just tell him that they will remind him of one of the many times that he should have listened to you!!!

Awww....sorry to hear that. My cousin did the same thing on a saw. He actually took off half of his finger (going down the middle, not across) They were able to take skin from somewhere else and fix it, but he doesn have a scar. If he takes care of it, it will heal ok though. Like someone else said, it adds character. Be thankful he didnt take off the whole finger!

OMG so glad that he didnt lose his finger...and he is ok,
I wouldnt worry about the scars, there are things now that can cover or help them heal cleaner. I have to agree-scars are sexy in a weird manly way

hope he gets better....and your pics will look great ....scars just add character..and always a good story. he has plenty of time to do some major healing b/w now and then...and neosporin scar strips work very very well!

OMG! Im happy he didnt lose his finger! It is silly not to want to take a pictures because his scars will show, its a part of him, like it or not. So what if he has scars? People are going to see them in everyday life, and will understand, nobody is going to be like "eww gross thats a horrible pictures he has scars" On a side note, if its that big of a deal, get maderma (sp?) its supposed to get rid of scars
