Collecting "gifts" at wedding
For those who are married...where and how did you collect your envelopes at the wedding?

Re: Collecting "gifts" at wedding
We collected a lot of them as we went around to the tables during the reception. We also received a lot of gifts towards the end of the reception. Many people just came up and handed them to us. Some people handed the envelopes to my parents. My grandfather made a photocube for us, which was on display behind our table. When we received envelopes, we dropped them into the box.

Re: Collecting "gifts" at wedding
We did not do that but alot of our guests gave us their envelopes when we went around to say hello to our guests but most of them came up to us to put them in our treasure chest that we had for our envelopes.

Re: Collecting "gifts" at wedding
People either handed them to us when we went around to the tables, or as they were leaving and saying goodbye.
We did get a few non-money gifts and the hall set up a table for those.

Re: Collecting "gifts" at wedding
We had a table behind us where people put gifts and our birdcage was for the envelopes. Many people waited until the end of the night to personally hand us the envelopes though.

Re: Collecting "gifts" at wedding
Well, for the most part, a lot of people came up to us, while we were at the deus and handed us them. I think I visited one table just to say hi and some guests gave me their cards then.......so it worked out, b/c me and FH felt like idiots going to table to table, so thankfully, it worked out, that they came to us.
We also had a cake box, if we werent around, they'd drop it in the slot.......LOL

Re: Collecting "gifts" at wedding
We went to each table togather to thank everyone for attending. Most people gave us their gifts then. The others gave it to us before they were leaving or to my folks, or his Mom.

Re: Collecting "gifts" at wedding
People gave us our gifts and bunch of different ways. The older guests waited for us to go to their table and thank them to give us their gift. Some people would come up to our card box and put it in themselves and some guests came up to us and handed their cards to us. Anyway you just need to make sure you have something to put the cards in.

Re: Collecting "gifts" at wedding
You should use a bird cage, photo box, cake(a box that resembels a cake), or a satin sack
