Reception halls that allow outside catering

I'm posting this in the 06 boards because I figure you guys have done more shopping around!

I have to have my reception at a hall that allows outside catering because it will be an Asian wedding and I want both american & indian food. I know a lot of halls require you to use their in-house caterer.

If anyone is in the same boat, which halls did you look at that allowed outside catering?

I know that a lot of the vineyards out east do.... there is a web site called Sites&Services that would probably help you out alot

huntington Townhouse allows it. My friend had her wedding catered. She also had an indian wedding.

Most lofts in NYC will allow it.

I had this problem as well. Really there aren't too many people that will allow outside catering mainly b/c that's where these halls really make their money. You can try a VFW, or Knights of Columbus. But since your looking for Indian, and American food, maybe you can try the Akbar in Garden City, outsode of Roosevely Field Mall. I've seen pics, of receptions there, and they looked wonderful. I'll FM you

An friend recently had an engemenet party at Venetian Yacht Club. The food was catered by Bukhara, an Indian restaurant in the city. Food was very good! Service was excellent! Music was great!

haha! that's alright. I still get the point

a loft wedding would be a lot of fun..just have to see if it fits in my budget (prob not!!)
I'm gonna check out those mansion places in LI too

I had the same requirements too. The places that I saw that allowed outside catering were Crest Hollow County Club, Carlyle on the Green, Leonards, Huntington Hilton, Huntington Townhouse.
I'm sure there are many other places that allow outside catering. I had to limit the places I looked at though b/c of the size of my wedding.

Any place that allows special facilities for kosher catering, should for any other type of cuisine. Good luck!

I suggest that you contact Sitar Restaurant in Huntington. When we contacted them, we had the option of using various places on Long Island based on our budget.

We opted for the Huntington Hilton but other choices included Sands, Crest Hollow Country Club, Huntington Townhouse, plus lots more I don't recall.

They have contacts at the various locations and they will coordinate everything which made it much easier for me.
