POLL: Kleinfeld Brides & Mini Exact Replica Gowns
I have YET to find someone else who ordered a mini exact replica gown from Kleinfeld. This is a copyrighted design where the alterations department at Kleinfeld uses the same materials and beadwork on your actual dress to create an 18-20 inch mini gown for displaying. Would you ever consider it? We're putting ours in a china cabinet with our photo album, veil, tiara, wedding coin favor, etc.
Please PLEASE post if you inquired about these, saw them, bought one, or know about it! Also please let me know if they quoted a price to you. I heard that they start at $700 and go up, depending on the complexity - but they quoted me $1800 for mine due to the detailing!?!?!
Like I posted in another thread, this is NOT my mini gown but IS my sweet dog Snow White with a mini gown example:

fellow kleinfeld bride here and when i read about the mini gown, to be honest it creeped me out a bit. i'm definitely not doing one.

My dog is named Snow White and she is very much alive - she is a 5.5 pound maltese dog who knows over 40 tricks that I taught her including the hokey pokey on command. 
She is not like your typical dog - we travel around the USA and do dog training as a hobby but it's usually the OWNERS I am training instead of the dogs haha. My dog doesn't bark for any reason and even goes potty on command hehe. She's changed the way I feel about toy dogs. Does anyone else have a maltese?
Snow White is from one of the top winning dog show lines of all time and she is so gentle and sweet. And don't worry that she is too spoiled, she is extremely well-adjusted and I get compliments on her behavior all the time & she's a very happy dog.

I would get the mini replica if i was going to sell my gown after the wedding, but if you are going to hold onto it, then why waste the money?

Well I don't think my ballgown will fit into the china cabinet as well hehe.
I completely respect that this isn't for everyone, but I think it is a creative masterpiece. A lot of collectible dolls cost just as much I believe. That's ok, we can all be happy whether or not we think this is worth it.

Starts at $700 but they spend TONS of hours on such a tiny piece of artwork (believe me, I've seen how tough it is to do in person.) It's definitely unique!

I will be quiet about this topic soon but I think all dresses are gorgeous no matter what the cost or not! We had to save up for over ***2 years *** from the time I first saw my dress in order to afford it but that was something I was willing to do. I was sooo worried that my dress would be discontinued but I was still able to order it, thankfully.
The associated costs of the gown and the mini replica also added to the expense. I think that it's worth it in the long run but it certainly wasn't "easily affordable" to us either. Good luck to everyone - and thanks for your feedback!

I think a mini dress is weird. I got my dress from kleinfelds also but I would never waste money on a mini dress that will collect dust in a cabinet.
